Counting down the days till my new last name ✍🏼👰‍♀️

Seven years of running @bored.george has changed how I see a lot of things. Some of what I believed at the start, I’ve completely let go of. Not everything that looks like success from the outside actually moves the business forward. Which one do you agree with? 👇 or disagree 👀 by @georgia.patten

What does the Internet have against a slick bun at a wedding atm? 😂
Screw my hair being a concern on the day. Slick it away and don’t have to worry about it for the rest of the day 🤷🏼‍♀️ by @georgia.patten

The hardest part of starting Bored George wasn’t the product. It was everything around it. Access to lending, knowing who to ask, feeling like I was making it up as I went.
@westpacnz has just launched Women Unlimited to close that gap for women-led businesses.

➡️ $100 million committed to start-up lending, available to eligible businesses. Westpac’s lending criteria, approval and terms apply.
➡️ Their partnership with re:ampd offers 500 fully funded 12-month memberships designed to help women start, run and grow successful businesses across Aotearoa New Zealand.
If that’s you right now, comment “grow” and I’ll send the links through.

There are seasons where it feels like everyone else is growing faster than you.

Where seven years somehow feels like you “should” be further ahead.

I’ve caught myself feeling that lately.

Then I stopped and reminded myself of everything this business has actually been built through.

It wasn’t supposed to become a business.
I spent years building it around a full-time job.
I didn’t have a business degree.
I started with no audience, no connections and no roadmap.
And this year, I’ve been learning how to run a business while raising a little human.

Sometimes we’re so focused on where we’re trying to get that we forget to acknowledge how far we’ve already come. by @georgia.patten
