Georgia Tech alumnus and three-time NCAA champion Octavius Terry, BM ’96, took his talents from the track to the runway as a contestant on Season 22 of “Project Runway.”

Before fashion, Terry was a nine-time All-American at Georgia Tech and spent 11 years building a career in banking. Then, at 36, he made a major pivot, trading finance for fashion, learning to sew, and building a new career from the ground up.

Scheller continues to rank among the nation’s best for undergraduate business education.

The College ranks No. 20 nationally for undergraduate business in the 2027 U.S. News & World Report ranking, marking three straight years in the top 20.

Five specialties also landed in the national top 10, including No. 3 rankings in Analytics and Management Information Systems.

Business Administration student Katherine Mangual spent her summer abroad with the Institute for Leadership and Social Impact (ILSI) Leadership for Social Good Study Abroad Program, combining study and hands-on experience.

While studying with ILSI, she also interned with Levegő Munkacsoport (Clean Air Action Group), gaining a global perspective on environmental advocacy and policy. by @georgiatechscheller

Friday called for a Schellerbration!

We marked the completion of George Tower | Scheller Tower with a ribbon-cutting for the new shared home of Scheller and the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering.

Sustainability is built into the space. The all-electric building uses 75% less energy than comparable facilities, collects rainwater to meet 70% of its water needs, and features specialized windows that maximize natural light while helping reduce bird collisions.

The celebration continued with a special surprise for Ernest Scheller Jr., alumnus and namesake of the Scheller College of Business, as our community gathered to celebrate his 97th birthday. 🎂 🐝 taken in Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business by @georgiatechscheller

We kicked off a new season of Tech Talks Business in its new home, George Tower | Scheller Tower, with Georgia Tech alumnus Jaime Gilinski, IE '78, CEO of Grupo Nutresa.

How far would you go for your goals?

For Sri Addanki, Executive MBA ’26, the answer is 595 miles, the distance of his weekly flight from Miami to Atlanta. That’s 1,190 miles every weekend while balancing a demanding career, coursework, and life at home with a newborn daughter. It isn’t easy, but Sri says the impact of the Executive MBA program on his work and the clarity it has given him about his future make every trip worthwhile.

Just as important is the support system behind him. Sri credits his family for helping make the journey possible, proving that pursuing an MBA is rarely a solo effort.

Corey Conklin, Evening MBA ’20, is a senior associate at Silverstein Properties and is helping shape one of the country’s most significant developments, the future global headquarters at Two World Trade Center.

His journey from growing up in a family immersed in residential real estate to leading complex projects in New York City was strengthened by hands-on learning, leadership opportunities, and a growing network at Scheller. Through practicums and his role as a founder of the Georgia Tech Real Estate Club, Conklin has gained the confidence and expertise that have brought him to this meaningful stage in his career.

“My goal right now is simple,” he said. “Be the best developer I can be on Tower Two, learn everything I can, and honor the significance of a building that means so much to so many people.”
