Three distinctive members of the Haemodoraceae family 🌿

Anigozanthos rufus, Anigozanthos manglesii and Anigozanthos humilis are native Kangaroo Paw species, recognised for their strap-like leaves and striking, velvety tubular flowers adapted for bird and native marsupial pollination. They are perennial wildflowers that have underground stems called rhizomes that store starch and help the plant survive bushfires and droughts by re-shooting new leaves. The red-and-green kangaroo paw (Anigozanthos manglesii) is the official floral emblem of Western Australia.

Each species has its own characteristic flower form and colour, showcasing the remarkable diversity of the genus Anigozanthos in Western Australia.

After @arminvanbuuren dressed up in drag there was an out pouring of support BUT there was also a LOT of negative comments from people we share the dance floor with. The rave and electronic music scene was created by black, brown and LGBTQ+ people. It was quite literally created to be a safe space for marginalised communities. As EDM and the rave scene becomes mainstream it’s becoming less inclusive and safe for the very people who created it. Let’s remember to practice PLURR on the dance floor.

Take me back to Africa. Over the years I’ve been lucky to have spent nearly a month in South Africa 🇿🇦, seven weeks in Kenya 🇰🇪, a few days in Uganda 🇺🇬 and thirteen days in Tanzania 🇹🇿 all these countries are incredibly beautiful.
