The new @thedarlingmagazine issue functions as a portrait for actress Giulietta Masina, one of cinema’s most haunting presences, for whom I created a series of AI images. The works are inspired by Gelsomina’s everyday life in La Strada (dir Federico Fellini) and work as imagined merchandise focusing on her personal belongings and what these could be today for a contemporary circus, nomad or street artist.

Palindromes

In Palindromes, Maria Georgoula shifts her sculptural practice into movement, using the body as material and gestures as readymades. Everyday actions blend with sound, creating a score shaped by rhythm, repetition, and play.
The performance moves through AMA House, unfolding both indoors and outdoors. Inside, the performers occupy different rooms, their movements intersecting within the frame of Georgoula’s diptych sculptures. Outside, the duet expands into open space before reconnecting.
The work evokes the familiar act of dancing alone at home, moving to your own playlist or someone else’s algorithm. What begins with solitary rhythm shifts into a shared choreography, built from fragments that stretch, scatter, and regroup. Improvisation amplifies these shifts, carrying humor, tension, and flashes of the grotesque into the flow of movement.
Performed by Vagelis Liopyrakis and Stavros Papadopoulos.   Supported by AMA House.
