I’m excited to finally share a project I’ve been developing over the past few months. I am curating an upcoming exhibition titled CROWN! The exhibition explores Black hair as a form of identity, union, memory, and beauty. Whether you have locs, braids, twists, an afro, curls, a fade, or another style entirely, I want to see it. Savannah, GA Casting Call: Sunday, October 4th 3-5PM Interested in participating? The sign-up form is linked in my bio. If you know someone who should be a part of this, shareeee!! by @ger.rawrd0
Do you remember that episode of ‘Hey Arnold!’ when Stoop Kid was afraid to leave his stoop? Arnold spent this episode working with Stoop Kid to build courage and face his fears. This moment reminded of that a bit. Take a leap of faith, and you might surprise yourself when you realize that you’re still standing firm. this view with a hot bun and taro boba tea >>> Tiff and I went on a voyage for this meal, but this pizza did sum to my soul :3 Djene + Tiff is a combo I didn’t know I needed in my life. this night was absolutely one for the books. full of yapping, laughter, curiosity, and most importantly understanding. I appreciate the connection we made oh so much. my first ever block party :,) if you haven’t been to the Met Cloisters yet, PLEASE check it out. I remember learning about this museum in my history & theory of virtual spaces course. Designed by Charles Collens, the museum is intended to evoke a sense of medieval European monastic life. It’s the only museum in the states that is dedicated to European art and architecture (mostly French monasteries and abbeys) from the Middle Ages. 10/10 recommend yellow bags are in. please get with the program - management the scaffolding is finally coming down and she is actually really that girl <333 I was having a Disney moment here no comment just appreciate the bees Victoria & I were on a mission to experience as much of nyc as possible. “Sacred Kinship I” // 05.25 Digital Photography on Inkjet Print, 18 x 24 in “Sacred Kinship I” exudes a sense of reverence and unity. The surrounding companions embody a balance of strength and grace as all the attention is centered on the “Mother.” The intricate styling and solemn expressions evoke themes of divinity, family, and introspection. The play of light and shadow and the monochromatic palette enhance the photograph’s timeless and ethereal quality. “Sacred Kinship I” celebrates identity, connection, and the fusion of historical and contemporary visual storytelling. @angeleauxx thank you so much for curating this beautiful exhibition. I am so appreciative of the platform you created not only for myself, but all the other artist as well. The exhibition is more than just looking at different forms of art, it’s a community. I am so proud of you and all that you’ve accomplished thus far and I am so excited to see more of your beautiful creations. My dear team, I want to take the time to thank you all for agreeing to be apart of this project with me. We spent so many hours looking through props, fabrics, and art galleries around Houston for inspiration. I am so grateful for your dedication and patience in bringing this project to life. I couldn’t have done this without you all. Friends and Family, thank you for your unwavering support on this journey. I deeply appreciate everyone that had a chance to attend the gallery.
