To the people out there who don’t feel comfortable in their own skin, who were bullied for being “bigger,” this one’s for you. I’ve been there; we’re stronger, faster, and more capable than we think.

This race was dedicated to 2020 Geraldin, who started her running journey with one goal: run a full mile without pausing the clock to catch my breath every 5 seconds.

6 years later, here I am, breaking my own personal record and running half marathons in the hot sun, when I couldn’t even run 1 mile in 2020. by @geraldinnoemis

As 26 comes to a close in a few days, it’s time to reflect. Most people only post highlight reels of their lives, so in an effort to flip the narrative and humanize social media, here are just a few of my failures/flops. I am grateful to be at a stage where I see failures as learning lessons, but this still doesn’t take away the pain they cause or the emotions they stir. These were taken a few weeks back when I was still a corporate baddie.

Here’s a story and lesson for you.

It’s okay to job-hop. It doesn’t make you any less worthy. Plus, nobody will care about the 3272993 jobs you’ve been through when you die.

It was tough to leave my job as a recruiter at a Fortune 500 company. I was scared to disappoint my parents. To them, being at a more established company meant fewer chances to be laid off, as I was previously laid off.

In addition, I, for so long, wanted the opportunity to be a recruiter, but this turned out to be an expectation vs. reality scenario. It just wasn’t a good fit.

Do what’s best for you. Don’t only think about current you but how will future you benefit or lose from the opportunity you’re in. by @geraldinnoemis

Who else can relate? Our cultural foods are not “bad” for us but our portions, well, that’s another story. For years as a little girl I remember my mom and my aunts always having random fabric and sewing supplies around the house, ready to different pieces.

I’ve always been interested in creating my own clothes as I see it as a form of art expression. I’m super excited to see what I can create with my @janomeamerica machine! Would you give sewing a try? by @geraldinnoemis
