Reminiscing on ADE 2024 where I caught one of my fav techno sets ever (D.Dan b2b Rene Wise at Elementenstraat)

Over the years, I’ve seen @d.dan___ many times and the man always delivers. This Friday he’ll be back at @domicile.miami to deliver yet again!!! And I have the privilege of playing a closing set right after 🥵 taken in Miami, Florida by @gerardo.x13f

Snippet from a track I recorded live back in April 2025.

Created the main dubby, atmospheric synth pads using Ableton’s Wavetable fed into the @qubitelectronix Mojave to create those choppy, granular swells and plucks. Modulating by hand the grain size, density, and shape.

The percussive synth is coming from a Plaits clone (AKA @afterlateraudio Beehive) using one of the percussion models, then heavily driving and waveshaping using a Blades clone filter (AKA Blue Lantern Parallax).

All other elements made on the TR8S

An improvised moment of rhythm, built live by @gerardo.x13f and I.

Moving through gray areas, tension, shadows and moments of light creating space for the listener to disappear into.
A pure live session.

Let go. Listen.

@annexmiami X @underclub.bsas thank you for having us

One of my fav tension-building tricks: filtering out everything but the synths, then cranking the delay feedback until it almost breaks… and then letting it all go💥

Drums and synths are on separate Octatrack channels, crossfader set to high-pass the drums. Modular runs into an @eventideaudio H90 band delay, with one switch mapped to increase delay mix, feedback (100%+), and resonance all at once. Press and hold to build the feedback loop, then release when I’m ready to drop.

Lately I’ve been diving deep into how to leverage the H90 switches for live performance, using them for momentary tension/release tricks while jamming. It’s insanely deep. Still just scratching the surface.

Since I first started listening to electronic music, I’ve always gravitated towards trance arps and breaks. The combo always leads to undeniable euphoria ✨

The arps are made using @industrialmusicelectronics Piston Honda sequenced using the Sting 2 (@iftah.is.my.name) sequencer in arp mode. I’ve loaded PH with harmonic FM-style wavetables and slowly modulating thru it to create different timbres. Sting is generating new sequences each bar while always staying anchored to the same two chords.

The chords being fed into Sting 2 are coming from a 2 chord progression playing pads on Pigments. The pads are then fed into the @qubitelectronix Mojave for rhythmic granular fx.

The arps and chords are fed into the @eventideaudio H90 for delay and reverb. I also have it set so when I press one of the switches on the pedal, glitchy ear candies are introduced.

Drums and percussion all coming from the @weareelektron Octatrack and @rolandglobal TR8S.

All of this heavily inspired by @jakojako_live ✨
