Flora and Form | Summer Exhibition 2026

We’re delighted to spotlight the spellbinding work of figurative painter Gerda Roper @gerdaroper as part of ‘Flora and Form’ Exhibition at Upton Castle Gardens & Gallery.
Stepping into Roper’s artistic world feels like passing through a looking glass, where reality and fantasy gently blur. Her rich oil-on-linen paintings echo the abundance of Upton Castle’s historic gardens, with intricate patterns, dense foliage and an extraordinary sense of fecundity.
Cobalt and ultramarine blues meet verdant greens, reds and warm cadmium yellows, creating luminous worlds inhabited by dreamers, sleepers, visionaries and fortune tellers. Suspended in moments of stillness and contemplation, her figures invite us to pause, wander and simply share in their silence.
This summer, come and lose yourself among the gardens and gallery, where abundant colour, exquisite pattern and quiet mystery meet. 🌺🎨
