Nazism and fascism aren’t right-wing ideologies. It’s time to stop the nonsense. The right vs the left is the group versus the individual. The Left supports the interest of the group (even though groups have no interests, only individuals do) whereas the Right supports the interests of the individual. Totalitarianism also emerges in societies that promote the collective at the expense of the individual. by @germinalgvan

I’m in a good position to speak about this because I am myself an intellectual and a business owner. On the one hand, I produce ideas as I am a scholar. On the other hand, I own a publishing business, which exposes me to the realities of the capitalist economy. My company produces goods (books) and services to people who seek to become authors themselves. And I have to say that when you run a business, you start to understand why capitalism rewards entrepreneurs and business owners. #capitalism #freemarketeconomics #businessownership #intellectuals by @germinalgvan

There is a reason why people who win the lottery eventually go broke. It’s all from within; it’s all psychological; it’s all behavioral. There are no external factors putting you into financial problems. People tend to think that if they have more money, it will solve all of their financial problems. One is having financial problems because s/he made poor financial choices to start with. Making poor financial choices catches up with you sooner or later.

People make poor financial decisions for a few reasons. First, they see money as an end rather than seeing money as a means to an end. Money is nothing more than a mere tool, it’s a medium of exchange, it’s a unit of account, and it’s a store of value. Those who see money as an end, use money for consumption. Consumption does not make you more money, on the contrary, it takes money away. Every time you purchase something, it’s money leaving your bank account, your purse, or your wallet. Thus, people who usually have financial problems do have them because they use the money they had on consumption and liabilities. In this buy-now-pay-later economy, everyone is using debt to funnel a lifestyle they cannot sustain.

Financial problems are the result of a lack of financial education, a misconception of money, and an unchecked urge to consume. Do not get me wrong, consumption in itself is necessary. As human beings, we are compelled to consume. Even the most stingy or frugal person still needs to consume.

Financial problems arise when you use your capital to consume. Those who see money as a tool do not use their capital to consume. They use the money made from their investments to consume. The rental income, royalty income, dividend income, or interest income is what they use to consume while those who see money as an end use their capital (their hard-earned money) for direct consumption.
Your capital is the foundation of your wealth. If you use your capital to invest in productive assets and use the income generated from these productive assets to consume, then you cannot have any serious financial problems because the foundation of your wealth continues to make you money perpetually. Louis, it has been almost two weeks since you’ve been gone, the pain of your premature departure remains intense. The friendship we had was terrifically solid. I won’t even call this friendship but a brotherhood. Our hours-long conversations about life, politics, and business, only deepened our bond.

The mutual respect we had for each other’s intellect and abilities strengthened our brotherhood. I’ve seen you in your moments of triumphs and also in your moments of weakness. You were hard-working, extremely driven, immensely ambitious, but what struck me the most about you was the might of your intelligence. You were one of the few individuals to match me intellectually, and that’s what made our friendship and brotherhood unique.

I am sure you are resting easy now. It was a real honor to have known you on a deeper level. Thank you for the memories, Louis. You are my brother from another mother, and you will always remain in my heart. by @germinalgvan

Unpopular opinion:

Racism, in its rudimentary form, is simply the belief that the customs associated with a particular skin color, are superior to another skin color and its customs associated with it.

Racism can be essentially divided into two forms: passive racism and active racism. Passive racism is believing in racial superiority without doing anything about it. Active racism, on the other hand, is the ability to implement that belief through a system, and creating an ecosystem to maintain it.

Those who postulate that reverse racism doesn’t exist, argue that a dominated group can’t be racist because it does not have the infrastructure, and resources to enforce its racial beliefs. The reasoning of that argument is very much flawed because those who hold that belief either deliberately or subconsciously focus on active racism while minimizing or even dismissing all together passive racism. The absence of active racism doesn’t negate the existence of passive racism.

What’s passive is always inoffensive until you have the means to enforce it…then it becomes active. by @germinalgvan

This book is 1,320 pages long and I finally got my hands on it. I cannot wait to read it cover to cover. There is a lot to uncover but I can already say with certainty, although published posthumously, that this book is Schumpeter’s crowning intellectual achievement. No one gets to write a 1,000+ page book on a regular basis.

This book already inspires me to produce monumental works that are comprehensive and exhaustive. The greatest writers who won major awards did produce such monumental works. It is time to level up the game and becoming one of the greatest at the craft. by @germinalgvan

The national debt did not have a downward trajectory since the early 2000s. From George W. Bush to Donald Trump, the National debt has been piling up. Each president, regardless of political party, kept adding more and more. The truth is that no president is interested in cutting spending. They all debate over whether we should increase or cut taxes whereas the real issue isn’t even addressed, which is to cut spending. It is as if both parties are allergic to cut spending, but that’s because the profit motive is nonexistent in government, and there’s no commodity to back the value of money, so they both spend recklessly without understanding that the future generations are the ones paying for that debt through an increased cost of living that augments year after year. #economics by @germinalgvan

The wealth tax doesn’t work for several reasons:

1. It is hard to value assets: Placing a price on private company shares, fine art, or real estate every single year leads to endless legal fights and high administrative costs.

2. There’s a lack of cash: Wealth is usually tied up in property or business ownership rather than cash, meaning a tax can force people to sell assets just to pay it.

3. Risk of Capital flight: High taxes on wealth often cause wealthy individuals to move their money or change their residency to countries with lower taxes. This subsequently drains domestic investment resources, collapsing currency values, and spiking inflation. by @germinalgvan

Politically, socialism is doomed to fail because it creates a society in which the state holds all the power. Individual rights are suppressed, particularly the right to property, which logically leads to a totalitarian system.

Economically, socialism is doomed to fail because the absence of prices in such a system prevents the efficient allocation of resources. This, in turn, leads to chronic shortages and the impoverishment of society.

Socially speaking, socialism is doomed to failure because it discourages and prevents individuals from engaging in private enterprise. This relieves individuals of their responsibility toward society and creates a direct dependence on the state.

Spiritually, socialism is doomed to fail because it seeks to undermine individual spirituality by replacing personal moral agency, voluntary charity, and faith in God with reliance on an all-powerful secular state, which can foster materialism, enforced conformity, and the erosion of individual conscience. This obviously leads to a soulless society lacking direction and purpose.

Metaphysically, socialism is doomed to fail because it erodes personal autonomy. Centralized economic and social control replaces personal decision-making with bureaucratic mandate, reducing the individual’s capacity for self-directed action. When the fruits of one’s labor and choices are detached from personal outcomes, the direct metaphysical feedback loop between an individual’s will and their reality is broken. by @germinalgvan

The safer a nation’s property rights, the stronger its potential to become wealthy. It’s economic mechanics. It works all the time wherever it is tried. Let people live, let them own, and everyone will be better off. by @germinalgvan
