When we celebrate our kids, we give them confidence. When we celebrate our culture, we give them identity. And when we bring both together, we give them something they can carry with them for life.

Keep showing up. Keep creating opportunities. Keep passing down our stories, our language, our traditions and our values.

Because one day, these kids will become the ones telling our story. taken in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia by @gerradjarred

A fia vave o‘o lou va‘a, alu na‘o oe, ae e fia tuli mamao le taunu‘uga, tatou alo‘alo fa‘atasi.

“If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together”

And that’s what I hope our kids learn as they grow, life isn’t about getting there first, it’s about who you have beside you along the way. Let them laugh, play, make memories and grow together, because the journey is always better when you don’t walk it alone.

ROUND 6

Rain, mud, wind… and did anyone actually stay dry?

Winter footy officially arrived this weekend, and Melbourne made sure everyone knew about it. From slippery fields to muddy jerseys and wet boots, the conditions definitely kept things interesting.

Our club was on the move with 4 different locations on the cards, 3 different weather conditions, 2 hands full of schedules and 1 club proudly represented wherever we went.

There was plenty happening away from the field too, with Queensland Origin players making their way around the western suburbs and the Origin Shield arriving by helicopter. Seeing the players and Shield up close was something many of our kids won’t forget anytime soon.

The weather forecast says we’re in for round two next weekend. Rain jackets are packed, boots are drying and we’re ready to do it all again.
