Healing is rarely easy. Some wounds cut deeper, some lessons hit harder. But healing helps us move forward, and understanding where it all came from helps us grow. It’s a never-ending cycle of learning, healing, and becoming — one step at a time, we leave the past behind and move closer to who we’re meant to be. #growthjourney 🌱✨   Really proud to have worked with @hustwilson on this very personal project! Drawn in #AdobeIllustrator by Huston, animated in #AdobeAfterEffects by me. ☺️ If you know a friend who has been been hurt lately, share it or drop a comment below!  Much love 🙌 ---- #personalgrowthjourney #growthmindset #innergrowth #typography #kinetictype #2danimation #goodtype #typegang #MadeWithCC by @gerry.thee

🌍 With World Kindness Week 2024 coming to an end, I have to say that my trip to Bulgaria exceeded my expectations by any means. Traveling to foreign countries is always exciting, especially for an exhibition where your art is part of. But what made this trip so special and unique is the fact, that I met so many cool, interesting, talented, nice and kind people wherever I went! Meeting like-minded people in RL for the first time you only knew from writing on Social Media before, added a level of excitement, I barely can put into words... incredible, at least! 🤯 So after everything sunk in, I started thinking about how to tell about it. And while flipping through my photos I realized, that every moment I had in this beautiful, and hearty country, is deeply rooted in the “Fight for Kindness” movement – even funny chats with the guys from the airport security check or the crazy cab drive to Sofia Airport, everything is connected to it.  As official Kindness Ambassador for Type Campus, I still feel truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to talk about this years's #FightForKindness campaign at the official exhibition opening at the Ivan Vazov National Library in #Plovdiv on 13th November, World Kindness Day 2024. Together with the super-kind @nakobaev, the Plovdiv local who brought the exhibition to #Bulgaria, but also managed to translate my talk, I shared my thoughts on why typography-driven design needs to make a difference in today's world. Because our world needs more kindness, no doubt, but now more than ever before! 🙏 I cannot thank @pai.in.the.sky and @deboramanetti from @typecampus enough for everything they do, and I really hope that we as participating artists could inspire people and put a spark on their creativity with this event! A huge "Thank you!" also goes out to @zetafonts for sponsoring the campaign for the third year now: Kindness may be priceless, but exhibitions and large format prints are not! 😉  To be continued... ☺️ Much love, Gerry ✌️  ---- #WorldKindnessDay #posterdesign #exhibition #contemporarytype taken in Plovdiv, Bulgaria by @gerry.thee

You know that feeling? Way too many questions, far too few answers? The more you try to understand, the more questions crop up along the way. It’s a vicious circle. ⭕ Welcome to the "overthinking" September—rainy weekend edition... tbh, I really don't like this weather either. 😅 ---- #everythingnothing #septembermood #handwriting #iykyk #staybold by @gerry.thee

Everything happens for a reason, but in the end, you are the only one who has to find the meaning in everything. For the better or worse, two sides of the very same coin: life in all its beauty. And tragedy. Be grateful for wherever it will take you. ---- #everythingnothing #dontthinktwice #allthatmatters #staybold by @gerry.thee

I can honestly say there are very, very few songs that touch me as deeply as the incredible "Black" by Pearl Jam. Ever since it was released—exactly 35 years ago today—on the (in my opinion, best) Pearl Jam album "Ten", it has been one of those songs that nearly overwhelms me with my own emotions every single time I hear it... sounds ridiculous, I know—but only to those who apparently have never had to grapple with the all-consuming, shattering tragedy of deeply felt, unrequited love. Those who know better understand what I mean: you can not only hear the raw pain in every single line, you can feel it with every fiber of your being... because you know #alwaysandforever 🖤 ---- #everythingnothing #pearljam #posterdesign by @gerry.thee

Fight for Kindness "The Brawlers" edition 🤜💥 This poster is very special, so please read along to get the full story behind it. Since I saw the magnificent "Ça non plus" posters from Marseille based @Paradestudio in an Insta story some weeks ago, I have become a big fan of his work (yeah, your story, Vincent 😉). While scrolling through PARADE's profile I saw a poster he did for FAMA, a bar in Marseille, and I was really blown away by it. Even more: Fascinated. The second I saw it, I was thinking about the idea of doing my own version for the "Fight for Kindness" campaign by @typecampus and @zetafonts. As you already know, I support it by doing some design and motion pieces to spread the word, bc I am convinced, that it is important nowadays to to build awareness around World Kindness Day in November by unifying global design communities and celebrating kindness. This week I designed the poster but wasn't comfortable about using a concept, layout and style of another artist. So I wrote him a DM today and explained what the idea behind #FightForKindness and, if he is ok with it, I would post it on my Insta feed, because I think it transports values, that Parade Studio, FAMA, and myself share alike: Making a positive impact on people and society by social connections, inclusivity, and positive cultural change – wherever we may act or live. Thank you, Anatole, for getting back to me short-term, and being super kind by giving your permission to post my design based on your creative work – feeling very grateful and happy about it! 🙏☺️ And there you go: My version of the "FAMA SUTRA" poster design. I'll put the original design in my story, so you can have a look by yourself. Please consider a like and/or a follow! 🫶 Last but not least: If you ever come to Marseille, make sure to visit the FAMA bar @fama.superette, who is run by two of PARADE's friends. Looks like an awesome place to enjoy some yummy food and drinks while connecting to good people. Definetly on my bucket list now! ☺️ Let me know what you think about "getting inspired" by other artists work. Would really like to hear what's your take on it! 🙌 Cheers Gerry ✌️ (continued in comment taken in Marseille, France by @gerry.thee

Introducing our next Fight for Kindness Ambassador, @gerry.thee Gerry is a creative soul with a love for type, graphic and motion design—and music. He combines good vibes with bold, typography-driven visuals, always advocating for positive social change, which has become one of the dominant themes in his artworks over the past few years. Gerry was our very first Fight for Kindness Ambassador and has continued to support the initiative through original motion graphics and creative collaborations. His custom Fight for Kindness stickers have travelled far and wide. - Kind over Matter Choosing kindness a deliberate act of strength, a power move. ”Kind over Matter” is a reminder that winning at the expense of someone else is an illusion—true strength lies in rising by lifting others. It may not be a competitive edge at first, but making the world a better place is always a winner.
