EVERY KNEE WILL BOW. 👑🔥

When Jesus returns, there will be no debate about who He is.

Christian. Muslim. Buddhist. Hindu. Atheist. Agnostic. Rich. Poor. Famous. Unknown. Kings and presidents. Every knee!

You can reject Him now mock Him now, worship the god of another faith now, or say that He doesn’t exist now. But what you believe about Jesus doesn’t change who Jesus is. Philippians 2:10–11 says that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. So look, you might as well bow your knee now. Because one day, the knees that were too proud to bend will bend anyway. You can know Him as your Lord and Savior today. Don’t wait until being in the presence of His glory leaves you no choice but to acknowledge Him. You can bow because you chose Christ, or bow when you finally see the King you spent your life rejecting. But you will bow. I promise you.

Jesus isn’t coming back to ride around on a horse waving his hand and smiling like one of these little Presidents. He’s coming back with WRATH. For you would’ve had your whole lives to choose mercy before judgment, grace before wrath, the cross before the throne of judgment, and an invitation before the reckoning.

Revelation 19:16 says He will return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

THIS IS WHAT “LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE” LOOKS LIKE. 🔥

Millions may be watching. Cameras are rolling. Stadium packed. Careers, endorsements, reputations with all eyes on them. And they’re still BOWING THEIR KNEES TO JESUS.

These are NFL players. Some of the best athletes on the planet. Yet in this moment, the helmets come off, the status means nothing, and they’re openly acknowledging that the one who is greater than them. That speaks LOUD.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14). Then He said to let our light shine before others so that when they see our good works, they ultimately glorify our Father in Heaven (Matthew 5:16).

Notice Jesus never told us to hide our faith because somebody might judge us. He told us to SHINE. 💡

If these men can publicly bow their heads with cameras pointed at them and millions watching…. WHY ARE WE AFRAID TO LET PEOPLE KNOW WE LOVE JESUS?

Some believers are scared to mention Christ at work. Scared to post Scripture. Scared to pray in public. Scared somebody might unfollow them. Scared somebody might call them “too religious.”

Meanwhile, these men are standing on one of the BIGGEST stages in America saying without even opening their mouths: “I’M NOT ASHAMED OF WHO I BELONG TO.” ✝️🔥

Being a light doesn’t mean putting on a performance. It means you love Jesus OPENLY. You obey Him OPENLY. You represent Him OPENLY. Not for applause. Not to look spiritual. But because Christ who died publicly for you should never become Someone you’re embarrassed to acknowledge publicly. Stop dimming your light to make darkness feel comfortable. We weren’t called to blend in with the world. We were called to shine.

UNASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL. UNASHAMED OF JESUS CHRIST.

Happy 64th Birthday Mom! ❤️🎂🙏🏽 Yes, 64! Thank you God! Thank you Jesus!

You are me and my Brother’s my first example of a woman. Our first example of strength, love, sacrifice, and unconditional love. You are my favorite woman to ever exist. You are my heartbeat. ❤️

The very first thing I did when I woke up this morning before I got out of bed, before I reached for my phone, before I did anything, was thank the Lord Jesus for blessing you with 64 years on this earth. And my prayer is that He blesses you with so many, many, MANY more years in Jesus’ name! 🙏🏽

Mom, I love you with all of my soul. There will never be enough words to explain what you mean to me or how grateful I am that God chose you to be my mother.

Today, we acknowledge you.
Today, we celebrate you.
Today, we thank God for you.
Today, we honor the woman who means more to me than words could ever express.

May the Lord continue to cover you, strengthen you, protect you, keep you healthy, fill your heart with peace, and bless you beyond anything you could ever imagine.

Ma, you’re the greatest. I love you eternally. Happy 64th Birthday! 🎂 by @getdizzy23

Notice how, in this picture, my past is behind me and I’m not looking back. 👀

When God delivered Lot and his family from Sodom & Gomorrah, He told them not to look back. But Lot’s wife did, and she became salt LITERALLY. Don’t look back at what God delivered you from. Keep moving toward where He’s calling you and who He’s calling you to be.

So if you’re looking for the old Dez, check the morgue. 💀 He’s dead, and I’m not digging him back up either no matter how much “fun” I may miss out on. I could easily go back to my old nature and probably have a lot more friends, more women, more clout and excitement. But they were all temporary highs that all came down. I’ve lived that life already. I know where it leads. The attention fades. The excitement wears off. The people come and go. And when the noise dies down, you’re still left with the same emptiness you were trying to escape. I’d rather walk with Jesus and have fewer people around me than have a crowd around me while being far from God. I’d rather have peace than popularity, purpose than attention, and a relationship with Christ than the approval of people. My old life may still call my name, but I’m not going back. God didn’t bring me this far just for me to return to what He delivered me from.

I’ve been on both sides. And I choose Jesus.

Some of y’all may miss the old version of me because he was wilder, louder, and more “fun.” But don’t let who I used to be make you miss who I am today. Jesus changed me. I denied myself, took up my cross, and followed Him. I went from being “the man” to becoming a man of God. From sex to waiting until marriage. From finding identity in “likes” to finding identity in Christ. I was nothing, but became something when Jesus became everything. And I didn’t overcome by my own strength, but through Christ who gave me strength. For who the Son sets free is free indeed. 🙏🏾

Man, I miss Uncle Steve. ❤️

What happened at the end of his life is something I’ll remember forever.

You see that he was white and I’m black—but that didn’t matter. Steve was family. He was such a good friend to my family that we literally called him Uncle Steve. He would do anything for us, and always did right by my family.

Uncle Steve passed away from cancer a few years ago. I used to tell him to stop smoking cigarettes, knowing what could happen. And then it did. 😥. During his final week on this earth, I went to spend some time with him. We prayed together. I’ll never forget his words:

“Nowhere to go from here but up! I’m about to be with Jesus. So many people are ungrateful. Their jobs and everything that they have is from God! They take life for granted. Jesus is coming back and we’ll be with Him! I guess the next time I see you Dez, we’ll be on those white horses next to Jesus. I love you!”

One thing is for sure: Uncle Steve loved Jesus. He loved thy neighbor. He didn’t see color. He saw people. And he was family.

But there was still work to be done. When Uncle Steve was on his deathbed, there was something he needed to let go of: unforgiveness in his heart. He had carried a lot of hurt and anger toward someone who had wronged him deeply. I reminded him of what Scripture says about forgiveness. I prayed with him. I prayed for him. Then I asked him: “Do you forgive them?” He paused. He didn’t say anything for almost a minute... “Yes. I forgive them.” I smiled and knew my job there was complete as I prepared to say goodbye to him.

That moment will stay with me forever. I’m glad we got to pray. I’m glad I got to FaceTime my Brother and my Nieces so they could see him. And I’m blessed that I got to see Uncle Steve smile one last time. He worked hard his entire life. It took this moment to finally get the hammer and nails out of his hands.

But now he’s at peace.

I love you, Uncle Steve. ❤️

I’ll never forget you.

Btw, he was so happy to take this picture. 😂❤️ It was almost like he felt honored to be in it. This was before he got sick. by @getdizzy23

Stop calling chaos “passion.”
Stop calling dysfunction “love.”
Stop calling emotional instability “chemistry.”
Stop calling constant arguing “just relationships.”

And as a Christ Follower, I’ll take it even further: Nothing about Christ was toxic for you to keep looking for toxicity instead of Him. Jesus didn’t call you to chase chaos. He called you to follow Him.

Disagreements becomes wars, every feeling becomes a weapon, and every moment of peace feels temporary because somebody always needs to react, retaliate, or make the other person pay for how they feel.

And no, you’re not fine. You need to HEAL. Healing isn’t just about feeling better. It’s about no longer making everyone around you miserable because you’re miserable. You’ve gotten so used to unhealthy love that you don’t recognize peace when it finds you. And that’s going to keep a lot of you unwanted and unchosen.

You’ll call accountability “judgment.”
You’ll call peace “boring.”
You’ll call boundaries “controlling.”
You’ll call spiritual maturity “being too serious.”
You’ll call someone who refuses to argue with you “emotionally unavailable.”

Then you’ll leave and say, “Every person I get with is the problem.” No. At some point, you have to be honest enough to ask yourself: “What if it’s me?” Sometimes you don’t need a new person. You just need a new version of you. A healed version. A version led by the Holy Spirit rather than your emotions.

Because if “toxic” feels normal to you, peace will feel uncomfortable because you’re not used to it. And until you deal with that, you’ll keep pushing away good people while blaming them for problems that existed in you long before they got there. The cycle doesn’t break when you find someone new. It breaks when the Lord transforms you. Be single for awhile. You’ll be okay, I promise lol. Get locked into a relationship with Jesus before you get locked into your next relationship. Don’t just ask Jesus for the right person. Ask Him to make you the right person too. ✝️

“A servant is not greater than his lord.” That part. Jesus is saying that if the world rejected Him, don’t be surprised when it rejects us too. I experience rejection all the time and I try to keep in mind that I’m not above rejection if they rejected Him. He actually said that the world will hate us because it hated Him first. Think about it; He preached to crowds of thousands of people and even did miracles for them, yet only 12 followed Him. THAT’S A LOT OF REJECTION.

So when we stand for Christ and people misunderstand us, criticize us, mock us, distance themselves from us, ignore us, act like they don’t see our posts, and try to silence us, it doesn’t mean we’re doing something wrong. Following Jesus has never come with a promise of universal applause. Actually the opposite.

This verse is a reminder to remain faithful when following Christ costs us something — whether it be acceptance, popularity, relationships, opportunities, etc.

No applause. No validation. No need to be understood by everybody. Just obedience to Jesus. Because the goal isn’t to be accepted by the world. The goal is to make it to Heaven and serve Christ here on earth as we will in Heaven. 🙏

The world measures a man by his height, status, and money. But God measures a man by his faith, character, and obedience.

I’m not 6 ft. tall in height. I’m 5’10½”
I’m not a millionaire. Far from it. No mansion, no private jet, no luxury lifestyle.

BUT I’M 10 FT. TALL IN THE SPIRIT.
Rich in faith. Rich in purpose. Rich in grace. Rich in peace. Rich in salavation. Rich in love. Rich in Christ.

2 Corinthians 8:9 “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich”.

You can be rich and spiritually broke.
And you can be 6’5” and not know Jesus.

We all end up the same height in the ground, and we all leave this earth without the money we made. All that will matter in the end is if you knew Jesus Christ! ✝️ by @getdizzy23

35+ YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP. 🤝🏾❤️

From L to R: Adrian, Duper, Anthony, Terrance, Shellz, Aris, and me.

I go all the way back to 2nd and 3rd grade with these guys. We’ve known each other for most of our lives. We’ve grown up together, celebrated together, laughed until our stomachs hurt, leaned on each other through some of the hardest moments, and made memories that can never be replaced.

And then there’s Shep. 💔

Losing Shep changed us. There’s a piece of our group that will always be missing, and no matter how much time passes, we’ll never forget the homie. His memory lives in the stories we tell, the laughs we share, and everytime we all get together.

After we lost Shep, we made a promise that we would never let life, distance, time, or anything else divide us. We promised to stay close and always look out for each other. So every time we get together, it’s bigger than just hanging out with the guys.

35+ years later, we’re still standing together.

Friendships like this are rare. We’ve lost friends, gained families, they’ve watched me thrive as an Uncle while I’ve watched them thrive as Fathers. We’ve watched life change around us, and somehow… we’re still us.

Here’s to the memories behind us, the memories still to come, and to Shep — forever one of us. 🕊️❤️

Deliver us from every generational curse.

Break every cycle that has followed our families for generations.

Break the patterns.
Break the strongholds.
Break the habits.
Break the mindsets.
Break the addictions.
Break anything standing in the way of who You’ve called us to be.

What stopped them doesn’t have to stop us. What was normalized before us doesn’t have to continue through us.

Give us the courage to confront what needs to change, the wisdom to recognize what isn’t from You, and the strength to walk away from what keeps pulling us away from you. Lord, make us the generation that breaks the cycle.

Heal our families. Restore our minds. Strengthen our faith. And help us become everything You created us to be.

We ask by faith in Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏾 by @getdizzy23

I SHOULD’VE BEEN DEAD.
But God wasn’t finished with me.

Guns to my head. Hammer cocked back. They said I was going to die. I prayed, asking Jesus to accept my soul if it was my time and to spare my life if it wasn’t. My life was spared.

Caught in the middle of a crossfire. Two dudes who had beef, shooting at each other and I’m in the middle. No bullets hit me.

My car hydroplaned in the rain and stopped just 12 INCHES from a telephone pole that someone crashed into the previous week and died.

And that’s just what I can fit in this post. There are chapters of my life that would take me writing a BOOK to tell you.

But here’s the part the devil never wanted:

I’M STILL HERE. STILL BREATHING. 😮‍💨

He came to seek me, kill me & destroy me.
But God said, “I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I’m not standing here because I’m lucky.

GOD’S GRACE AND MERCY.

And if He kept me through all of that, I know He also kept you who is reading this too. For a reason.

So if you’re reading this and you’re tired, broken, lost, addicted, angry, ashamed, or wondering if God still wants you…

HE DOES.

Jesus didn’t go to the cross for perfect people.

He went to the cross for us.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

I’m not telling you this story so you can marvel at me.

I’m telling you so you can see HIM.

The same God who carried me through the valley can meet you in yours.

The same Jesus who saved me can save you.

DON’T WASTE THE LIFE GOD GAVE YOU.

YOUR STORY ISN’t OVER.

Give your life to Jesus. 🙏🏾✝️

Before I get back to this preaching…

My youngest niece, Serayah, just turned 3 a few weeks ago! 🥹🎂🎉

Babygirl is growing up way too fast. So intelligent and filled with so much joy and love!

I just melt when you say with all of your chest: “Uncleeee!” and take off running as fast as you can into my arms!

It feels like just yesterday I was holding you as a tiny baby, and now you’re running around with that big personality, making everybody laugh and keeping Uncle on his toes lol.

Watching you grow has been such a blessing.

You are SO loved, Tinky mama!

Uncle loves you more than you’ll ever know. ❤️ by @getdizzy23
