Our story, the shortish version: We’re Chris and Marissa Barrett and we’re the founders of FAIRCLOTH, formerly known as Nashville Blanket Project. We dreamed up our project in our old ~600 sq. ft apartment in the spring of 2018 and launched that summer at the @12southfarmersmarket @thepeachtruck Peach Fest that June.
•
Our dream was simple: what if we could find a way to meet the recurring need for blankets for local nonprofits. With friends who volunteered at @peoplelovingnashville we kept seeing this request pop up. PLN serves neighbors in need on the streets of Nashville, providing food, clothing, and community. Inspired by their work, we wanted to do something on our own to help. Thus, Nashville Blanket Project was born.
•
We decided that we would source the best most durable yet cozy blankets to sell, and for every one sold, one would go to a neighbor in need.
•
We’ve learned a lot through the past 8 years but we’ve also been able to give more than we could have dreamed of, or ever have given by ourselves; over 12,000 blankets have gone to neighbors in need!
•
Now, we design our blankets, made from 100% cotton (no plastic or polyester here) woven in the USA. Our blankets are ethically and sustainably made, 100% exclusive designs, that won’t get destroyed when you wash them (like those blankets that start fuzzy and end up crunchy), so you can keep them for decades.
•
There’s so much more to our story (our lore, dare I say) so stick around.. and thanks for being here. We couldn’t do this alone. ❤️ taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @getfaircloth

Life is busy and goes by so fast. It’s hard to find ways to give back in the middle of it all. But when you buy a blanket from us, for yourself or for a gift, you can know that even a simple purchase can make a difference. We’ve been able to give over 12,000 blankets thanks to you and we’re so grateful.

Our mission to give one blanket for every blanket sold is coming to Texas! ROUND TOP, TX has been on our vision board a long time y’all. So very grateful for @amandanelz connecting me to @shopshapeau who gave me so much great advice. And of course humbled to be included in @roundtopmakersmarket! Wish we could stay the whole time but we’ll be there the first weekend plus Monday on Oct. 17th-19th. Can. Not. Wait!

We’re back at Musicians Corner! One of our favorite ever places to set up (peep the old NBP booth). It’s FREE-ninety-nine and one of the best experiences to watch live music in Nashville because not only will you see amazing headliners but emerging indie artists as well.. you can say “I saw them way back when” about them when they’re playing Bridgestone in a couple years. Choosing the music for this post was actually so hard because we’re huge fans of so many of these artists- especially @_laney_jones who we met “way back when” eating at @slimandhuskys first location in Salemtown. But we’ve been seeing @nikkilane77 all over the place since Chris and I were dating! Favorite show might have been at the @fristartmuseum She let us pop up at @hchvintage right after the 2020 tornado with our El Camino mobile setup “way back when.” And congrats to her for expecting her first and still playing shows what a bad 🍑! And @raylandishere , I mean he’s just a star and his songs will be stuck in our heads for days after tonight. I don’t even remember the first time we saw him but it’s been a lot! Honestly everyone on this lineup is so good and @centennialpark @lightning100 @muscornernash have created something so special here. Please come out and say hey, we would love to see you this weekend! taken in Musicians Corner by @getfaircloth

This was last week. Just haven’t been right since we got the news. I honestly didn’t know people outside of Tennessee felt the same way about her because she’s so beloved locally. But every time I’ve gotten online I just keep seeing more reasons to appreciate her and then I feel sad again! Knowing what she dealt with health wise has really inspired me because I have similar issues. I’m just so amazed at all she managed to do despite it. What a woman!
