POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For women, dogs provide a sense of safety on the streets. There are so many stories of dogs accompanying women, deterring miscreants from causing potential harm. They keep societies safe. They keep the streets safe no matter day or night.
Removing them from the streets is not an act of “cleaning” but a great cruelty. This is not humanity. This is not kindness.

Throwback to when Pune had gathered on the tekdi to protest against its destruction. Narayan (tekdi dog) pretty much thought we were all gathered to praise songs for his holiness 🤣 he wasn’t entirely incorrect

I’ve heard about cats being walked on leash but had never seen one in person. It felt bizarre when I heard about it and definitely felt 100x bizarre when I saw it!

No one had to say anything out loud in this interaction. Titli (dog on left) wasn’t really too pleased about the brown dog’s existence and wanted to avoid close interaction. She curved so beautifully to pass the brown dog and was curious enough to go back and sniff.
Our dogs are able to figure out and navigate situations without us instructing them all the time. It’s not always easy to take a step back but the more we trust our dogs, the more we can see how incredible they are!

Adoption alert Pune: This Virat. He was found unconscious as a young puppy. Thankfully he received timely helped and was nursed back to full health. Volunteers even tried to release him where he was found but he kept following people and cars. An indication that he is used to a human home and has bonds with people. So the only option for him is to be adopted, and he is very adoptable! A super human friendly pup, goofy, playful, and a great companion.
✅ Fully Vaccinated
✅ Human friendly
✅ Smart (as all Indies are)
✅ Neutered
✅ Physically and emotionally healthy

Three things that will help see through rainy days without them being a task!
1. Patience - we might have to patiently wait until the dog feels ok to go out for a walk.
2. Flexibility- we have to be more flexible in terms of where and when to walk. Dog’s preferences may change due to the wet roads and they might not poop at all if they don’t like the surface. This may lead to complications. So flexibility is key!
3. Consideration - Dogs are navigating the rain in different ways than us. Some may want to get wet. Some may not want to go out at all. There is no right way. Be considerate of your dogs when you go on a walk and when at home waiting for the rain to subside.

To be honest, my start into the ‘pro dog’ world was with obedience training. It sucks that the system was created that enables this. I feel fortunate to have learnt better, stepped away from it, and enjoy a relationship with dogs that doesn’t center around my needs.

Our time is not too long in this world and unfortunately, our dogs’ time is even shorter. Enjoy it. Cherish it. Let me know how you feel.

I know we live in an era of surveillance so I suppose Kaiser is making sure I’m well prepared for it.
