The Laptop Goes In A Drawer At 7. Not On The Couch.

You built the company for the people at the table. The shutdown ritual is how they get you back.

Three steps, five minutes.

Write tomorrow down so your head doesn't carry it.
Close the lid, then close the drawer.
Dinner gets the version of you the team got at 10 am.

It's Saturday. The work will be exactly where you left it on Monday. Let it wait.

It's six months from now. Your project failed. Why?

That's the premortem, a method Gary Klein laid out in Harvard Business Review in 2007. Before launch, everyone assumes the plan has already failed and writes down the reasons on their own. Then you fix the biggest one while it's still cheap to fix.

It works because "what could go wrong?" gets polite answers. "It failed, why?" gets honest ones.

What would be the first reason on your list? by @getfoundersfuel

I Stopped Making Big Decisions After 4 pm. Here's What Changed.

Founder to founder: most of my worst calls were made late in the day. Not because the information was bad. Because I was spent and wanted the thing off my plate.

So I made a rule. Nothing irreversible after 4 pm. Hiring, firing, pricing, signing. It waits for the morning.

What changed:
I stopped rewriting emails I sent at 6 pm.
The team learned that late pressure doesn't get a late answer.
Mornings got heavier, in a good way. That's where the real decisions live now.

After 4, I still work. I just draft, list and sleep on it. The decision gets made at 9 with a clear head and a written case.

What's your rule. Tell me in the comments.

You're overthinking a decision you can undo.

Jeff Bezos split decisions into two kinds in his 2015 Amazon shareholder letter. One-way doors can't be undone, so you go slow. Two-way doors can, so you decide fast. His point: most decisions are two-way doors, and treating them like one-way doors just makes you slow.

One question settles it. Can I undo this? If yes, decide today.

The 90-Second Reset Between Calls.

Hard weeks don't break you in one meeting. They wear you down in the gaps you never take.

The next time one call ends and another starts in two minutes, give it 90 seconds.

First 30: close the last call on paper. One line. What was decided, who owns it.
Next 30: stand up. Shoulders down, slow breath out, look at something farther away than your screen.
Last 30: write the one thing you need the next person to hear.

Then click join.

Pressure isn't going anywhere this week. You can still decide what you carry from one room into the next.

Your Best Two Hours Are Not For Meetings.

Most founders give their sharpest hours to whoever booked them first.

Take them back:
One: block 9 to 11 as a meeting with yourself. Name it after the work, not "focus time".
Two: phone in another room. Not face down. Another room.
Three: one tab, one document, one problem.
Four: write the first sentence of the next step before you stop, so tomorrow starts warm.

Our version of the ritual: notebook open, water, Founders Fuel® on the desk at 9, calendar closed until 11. The block is what does the work.

Bookmark this and protect tomorrow morning.

It's 2:17 pm. Third Call Back To Back.

The afternoon slump is usually a calendar problem before it's anything else. You stacked the hard calls after lunch and left no air between them.

Three moves between calls:
Book a five-minute buffer, and actually take it.
Stand up and walk to a window.
Write one line about what the next call needs from you.

Founders Fuel® sits on the desk for this hour, part of a workday ritual. Most customers report feeling it in about 15 minutes. Skeptical? Good. Try it for yourself.

The buffer is the part you can start today.

This is The 2:17. Every Tuesday, one move for the hardest hour of the founder's day.

Four Things To Do Before You Open Your Inbox.

Your inbox is everyone else's to-do list. If it gets the first hour, it gets the day.

One: drink a full glass of water before anything else.
Two: get outside for ten minutes, even if it's grey.
Three: write down the one decision that matters today. Just one.
Four: give that decision a first draft before you open email.

None of this is complicated. The order is what does the work. You walk into the day having already decided something, instead of reacting to forty people who decided for you.

Twenty Minutes On Sunday Buys You Monday.

Yesterday was for being off. Keep today mostly that way. You only need twenty minutes tonight.

One: open the calendar and look at the week. Don't fix it. Just see it.
Two: pick three decisions for the week. Not thirty tasks. Three decisions.
Three: put the first one on Monday morning, before the inbox gets a vote.
Four: close the notebook and leave it on the desk.

The founders who walk in sharp on Monday aren't working Sunday. They're deciding on Sunday, then stopping.

Saturday is off. Actually off.

No inbox. No "quick check" of the dashboard. The founders who are sharp on Monday treat rest like part of the work, because it is.

Then Sunday evening, 20 minutes to set up the week:

1. Close every open loop. Write every unfinished task on one page. Your brain stops rehearsing what paper is holding.
2. Pick Monday's one decision. Not ten. One. Make it first, before the inbox gets a vote.
3. Protect Sunday night. Screens off an hour before bed. Same wake time as a weekday.

Off days are not fine print. They are the design.

When we started Founders Fuel, we agreed on one thing: we didn’t want to be just another botanical performance product.

So we started with the arguments instead. These are the notes.

The purest, best-sourced ingredients we could find. Whole leaf Mitragyna speciosa. Kava. Lion’s mane. L-theanine. Four ingredients, all named, no proprietary blend.

Made with a GMP-certified manufacturing partner.

Natural flavours and stevia. No sugar.

A clear window down the side, so you can see your servings. Two fl oz, two servings.

We’re still arguing about matte black or gloss.
