I didn’t start Future You Letters because I wanted to start a business. I started it because I needed one. ❤️

There was a season in my life when everything felt uncertain.

I had experienced heartbreak, loss, grief, and moments where I questioned if I’d ever become the person I dreamed of being.

I wished someone could reach through time, place a letter in my hands, and whisper:

“Keep going. You’re closer than you think.”

Then I realized…

What if that someone could be my future self?

That simple idea became the beginning of Future You Letters.

Gifted collaboration with @getfutureyouletters 💜

I opened this in a quiet moment and let myself fully experience it. And honestly… it moved me. There was something deeply comforting about reading words filled with reassurance, grace, and hope—as if from the version of me who has already survived this season.

“I’ve never felt more seen by a stranger!!” 🥹💌

Those words from Gabrielle stopped me in my tracks.

Gabrielle is the beautiful founder of @herehotyoga studio, where she has created such a beautiful community centered around yoga, wellness, connection and becoming the best version of yourself.

There is a psychological reason connecting with your future self can matter.

Research on future-self continuity suggests that when people feel more connected to their future selves, they are more likely to make decisions with that future person in mind.

In one study, researchers had participants write letters to their future selves. Those who strengthened their connection with a distant future self went on to exercise more in the days following the writing exercise.
