Get Hip Recordings
Celebrating 40 Years of Independent Music
Seems like only yesterday that Get Hip Recordings was three garage punks with a dream of making and releasing their own music on their own terms. Now forty years later, the landscape may look different, but the dream is the same.

This week we’re celebrating not only founder Gregg Kostelich’s birthday, but the hundreds of releases from independent bands all over the world that have trusted Get Hip with their own musical dreams over the years. We’d also like to thank you (yes, you!) for allowing us to keep the dream alive since 1986.

Now through October 31, take 40% off ALL titles on the Get Hip label, including albums from the Get Hip Archive Series and the Get Hip Folk Series.

Saturday, October 17th, Tortured Souls Brewing in New Kensington brings you legendary city rockers, The Cheats, along with Get Hip’s own Dragline and Altoona punks, The Snipped! No cover either! How can you say no to that with three heavy bands on the bill?? We’ll see you there! by @gethiprecords

Flipside Scotty sez… “this is how we’re going to record bands from now on”.. These machines didn’t last too long out there. They produced the tapes for it, before the machine came out, which is why the product basically bombed. It was to “combat” changing over the reels every time the tape recording was over. Manufactured from 1958 to 1964. by @gethiprecords
