What a genuine pleasure it was to introduce my old friend @getmooretattoos to my love of long-distance motorcycle touring with an epic ride down the coast from Vancouver to San Francisco.

Spending a week together on the bikes was good for my soul. We put down some big, big miles, rode some of the most beautiful and technical roads on the West Coast, and filled the hours in between with long conversations about riding, tattooing and life.

Motorcycle touring feels like a pretty good allegory for life. You point your wheels down the road, swallow your fears, enjoy the twists and turns, and trust that somehow, eventually, you’re going to get where you’re going.

🎨 ARTISTS, WE NEED YOU

Metal For Nepal is a collective effort born from the heavy metal and tattoo communities, and right now we’re turning to our artist community for help.

We’re appealing to artists around the world to donate one of your paintings to our Nepal Flood Appeal. The paintings will be put on sale, with 100% of the money raised going directly towards our ongoing relief efforts in Nuwakot, Nepal.

We’re working with a small community that has been devastated by the floods and desperately needs support. The funds raised will help us provide children and families with essentials including food, clothing, toys, art supplies and sports equipment.

Let’s put art at the heart of what we’re doing and turn creativity into something that can bring hope, dignity and a little joy to children who have lost so much.

Thank you @brettherman for commissioning a painting and being so patient. I think this is my first commission… I’ve always made paintings for art shows, charities or because I had time. I’m really happy to have made this for you Brett.
When I started this piece… I had a totally different vision, but as I went along… it really decided its own aesthetic. It’s much more interesting than the original path. by @getmooretattoos

Cthulhu!! Thank you Zache! Epic project on a fantastic person. We finished this in the spring. I love the scale of Cthulhu, the underwater city and the battered mermaid… feels epic.

Trevor’s back is about choosing your path in life… weighing out decisions with your head or your heart. The morning I started this piece on Trevor, I was walking our dog and I was watching rain drops in a puddle. It was mesmerizing watching the tiny concentric circles appear and disappear in the water. I realized that’s life… a constant string of continuous choices we make that determines the shape of our life. It’s not just the big decisions but the small ones too.
