Huernia zebrina, the Little Owl or Lifesaver Cactus is a plant that likes to play hide and seek. It grows under the shade of other plants and only shows its flowers when it wants to attract some flies. This one grows happily on my shelf and so far haven't had any whiffs of rotten meat🤞
