In 2022, Swatch launched the MoonSwatch.
In the months that followed, sales of the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch rose by more than 50 percent in Omega retail outlets (Nick Hayek, Bloomberg, July 2022).
Today, Swatch and Audemars Piguet release Royal Pop. Eight bioceramic pocket watches priced from 400 USD.
Participating Swatch boutiques sold out within hours of opening, with overnight queues reported in multiple cities.
Before the first boutique opened, the Royal Pop was already listed on StockX, eBay, and Jomashop, with asking prices several times above retail.
A watch had a market price before it reached its first owner.
Sales are a delayed signal. Pricing is not.
Whether existing Royal Oak references move with it will take weeks to confirm.

Created as a collaboration between Richard Mille and McLaren Automotive, RM 40-01 Automatic Tourbillon McLaren Speedtail takes inspiration from the McLaren Speedtail hypercar’s aerodynamics.

✦ The case and overall aesthetic mimic the teardrop shape used in the Speedtail’s design. It comes in a complex, asymmetrical case built from Grade 5 titanium and Carbon TPT®.

✦ The watch features a unique “triple-contour” sapphire crystal developed to fit the tapering case.

✦ Powered by the in-house CRMT4 automatic calibre, the watch combines a tourbillon with automatic winding, a large date, a power reserve indicator and a function selector.

✦ The movement integrates a variable-geometry rotor, optimizing winding efficiency.

Produced in a limited run of 106 pieces, matching the number of McLaren Speedtail cars, this timepiece is valued at around CHF 900,000.
