Numbers are the easiest thing to measure, so we start there. But a mark has never told us whether someone will show up in September, take a hard cue without ego, or make the athlete next to them better. Those are the things we’re actually recruiting for, and honestly, the ones we pray over most.

We keep a small number of throwing spots, so yes, we have to choose. We do it prayerfully, and we do it knowing a mark is only part of the picture. The standards here are how we start that conversation, not how we end it. If you’re close, if you’ve never thrown the event, if you’re already a Bruin in another sport, reach out anyway. Let us be the ones to tell you no.

Trusting the process and the One who directs it. Go Bruins. taken in George Fox University by @gfutrack_xc

Congratulations to the Bruins who moved up the list this past season. These marks represent a lot of quiet work, and we are grateful for the athletes who came before and set the standard.

We are looking forward to seeing new names on these boards in 2027, and current ones climbing higher.

To my throwers at Western Oregon: I love you all! We had such an amazing year, and there is truly nothing else that could have pulled me away from you outside of this specific opportunity.

When we moved to Newberg, Oregon from Houston last June, I had no idea this was in store. God truly moves in mysterious ways! I am incredibly honored and excited to officially announce that I am joining George Fox University as the Assistant Track & Field Coach for the throws program. by @gfutrack_xc
