Periods are natural. Period poverty shouldn't be.

Every girl deserves access to safe menstrual hygiene products, accurate information, and the dignity to manage her period without shame or fear.

At Give Girls A Chance (GGAC), we believe menstruation should never be a barrier to education. Through menstrual hygiene management, we work to create a supportive environment where girls can stay in school, care for their health, and feel confident throughout their menstrual cycle.

Let’s break the stigma, raise awareness, and give every girl the support she deserves. 💗

very girl deserves an environment that encourages her to learn, dream, and succeed.

Through our Family & Community Engagement Program, GGAC visits the families and communities of our beneficiaries to advocate for girls’ education, provide training, and connect families with support services, including health, food relief, social services, and livelihood opportunities.

Our work goes beyond the classroom because lasting change happens when families and communities are part of the journey.

“Educating girls and giving them the tools to shape their own future has an incredible multiplier effect on economic growth.” — Ban Ki-Moon

When girls learn, communities grow.

Educating a girl does more than open doors for her. It creates opportunities for families, strengthens communities, and contributes to a more prosperous future for everyone.

At Give Girls A Chance, we believe every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and shape her own future. Through education, scholarships, and mentorship, we are investing in girls today and building a brighter tomorrow.

Give a girl a chance. Change her future. Empower a generation.

In commemoration of the International Day of the Girl child 2026, Lady Helen Child Health Foundation (LHCHF) celebrated the Girl Child at National Assembly, Abuja, bringing together students from selected secondary schools across Abuja
The event, themed “Every Girl Deserves the Right to Learn, Lead and Choose Her Future,” featured students from Government Model Secondary School, Jikwoyi; Government Secondary School, Karu; Government Secondary School, Nyanya; Government Secondary School, Wuse; and Police Day Secondary School Garki, Girls Vanguard, accompanied by their teachers.
The programme was structured around a Girls’ Parliamentary Debate, designed to simulate a National Assembly session and provide girls with the opportunity to experience parliamentary engagement, express their views, and contribute their perspectives on issues affecting the girl child.
The event was attended by Dr. Benjamin Odeka, Chief Executive Officer of LHCHF, and Dr. Francisca Odeka, Director of Operations at LHCHF and Managing Director of Frandek Consulting International Limited, the Immediate Past head of service- Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON,mni, Ministry of health, alongside other partners, dignitaries from various professional backgrounds.
The parliamentary debate provided a platform for the students to demonstrate their knowledge, public-speaking skills, and understanding of issues affecting girls in society.
The event also featured the presentation of gifts and awards to recognise and appreciate the participants and the schools
The celebration concluded with a renewed call for families, schools, policymakers, and other stakeholders to create an enabling environment where every girl can access quality education, develop her leadership potential, and make informed choices about her future. And one of the policy demand was that the government should amend the universal basic education to make education fully free, compulsory, and safe for all girls all the way up to SS3backed by government funded buses
Through this initiative, the Lady Helen Child Health Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the rights, health, education, and empowerment. by @ggac_ng

GCCAI is back.

We restarted yesterday with a conversation, not an announcement. @oiza_alonge spoke with Kehinde Abereoje (@purple.pact and @shopmensa_ ) and Onyekachi Ogba (@ggac_ng ), two women already doing the work, about what keeps Nigerian girls in school and safe.

This excerpt is about what a girl should know about her own body, and who should be the one to tell her.

Today, we celebrate girls everywhere and reaffirm their right to learn, grow, lead, and choose their futures.
At Give Girls A Chance, we believe that when girls have access to education, support, and opportunity, they can build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
This International Day of the Girl, let’s continue to invest in girls, protect their rights, and create opportunities for them to thrive.
Brighter girls. Stronger futures.

Today is International Day of the Girl.
This year’s campaign brings us back to one clear message: end child marriage and invest in girls’ rights.
There are things each of us can do:
1. Sponsor a girl’s schooling.
Help give her the opportunity to stay in school and build her future.
2. Ask your state representative where your state stands.
Is the Child Rights Act domesticated where you live?
3. Share this message.
33% is not a fact of nature. It was 43% a generation ago. Progress is possible, and we can help accelerate it.
At Give Girls A Chance, we believe every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, lead and choose her future.
When we invest in girls, we invest in a stronger future for everyone.
💗 Give a girl a chance.

We keep girls in school. But our work goes beyond the classroom.
Since 2016, Give Girls A Chance has supported 500 girls through scholarships lasting at least three years.
And over 90% stay enrolled or have completed school.
Today, our work reaches girls from age 10 through 29, supporting them from the classroom through to their first job.
Because staying in school can mean more time to learn, grow, build confidence and shape a future on their own terms.
Every year a girl stays in school is a year she is not married off.
This is why we invest in girls.

Nigeria’s Child Rights Act 2003 sets the minimum age of marriage at 18.
But the Act only applies in states that have domesticated it.
That means legal protection is not the same for every girl across Nigeria.
A law that stops at a state border is not protection. It is a postcode lottery.
Ending child marriage requires more than recognition. It requires laws that protect every girl, everywhere, and the commitment to implement them.
On 4 September 2026, the UN General Assembly declared 27 November the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage.
Recognition matters. Domestication matters more.
Ask your representative: Where does your state stand?
