Johanna

Ben
•K1 500m 17 yr old C Final – 7th ( 1:47)
The whole C final went about as fast as the B!

Dylan

Incredible teamwork👏

So proud of these performances! These athletes train year round in grueling weather amidst school and other responsibilities. To finish a long season with such performances is very impressive💪 way to go!!!!!

This past weekend was SUCH A BLAST!!!!

Coach Tod was the Race director for the Narrows Challenge once again and this year partnered with @usasupofficial to host the @usasupnationalchampionships right here in GIG HARBOR AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!

Thank you to everyone who came from ALL over the country. Thank you to local business and community members who came and supported. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with so many details! We had incredible sponsors and support and could not have done it without you💛✨️

There has been lots happenning for GHCKRT in September, even "after racing season" 😉

We sent a VERY fun group up to Whonnock Lake to race at the Fort Ridge Fall Classic. Some of them only having paddle for less than a couple months!! Welcome to the club:)

Did you know that early this year we initiated a "Race to L.A." ???

Each week, coaches would recieve athletes' reported km from their paddle session. Each km moved them closer on a route that Coach Alan mapped out from Gig Harbor all the way to Longbeach, CA where the 2028 Olympics will be held. This was a fun motivating way to collect the mileage our athletes need as foundation.

Through diligence and persistence we have one athlete who has not only kept the records and consistently submitted them but has officially GONE THE DISTANCE! Congrats Ben!

So proud and excited!! 🎉🤙

Huge shoutout to our GHCKRT OC6 crew for representing for the very first time at the Queen Liliʻuokalani Long Distance Race in Hawaiʻi!

They paddled strong and finished 4th in the Junior Mixed division and 30th overall — an incredible debut on that legendary course.

What a milestone. Mahalo nui to Coach Andy who led the charge and to Jackson, Ryder, McKinzie, Kaya, and from @kikahaokekai - Lilly and Henry for the hard work, the heart, and for flying the GHCKRT flag with so much pride. Can’t wait to see what’s next! 💪🌊🌺

Proud moment for Gig Harbor! 🇨🇦✨
Ashley Platt just represented us at Canadian Nationals, where over 1,200 paddlers showed up to give their absolute best. Our athletes race all year long at many different events, and Ashley paved her way to get a new international experience right next door.

Biggest highlights:
• Personal best in C1 1000m
• Crushed her C2 1000m PR by 40 seconds… then shaved another 6 seconds off that time in the final
• Made the finals in every teamboat — each C2 with a different partner — before the four of them came together in the C4 and brought home a podium!

We are so proud of you, Ashley! 👏🔥

**The Summit Team 🏔️**

Five GHCKRT alumni athletes have been climbing this mountain a long time. They’re at high camp, ready to push for the summit — the LA Olympics.

From the first World Cup through the end of the 2027 season, every race earns quota points for their country. These athletes have represented Team USA *and* GHCKRT every step of the way.

Last week we partnered with Gig Harbor's AGA Gymnastics camp for an afternoon and it was SO. MUCH. FUN!!!!!!

Yesterday we said farewell for now to three of our awesome coaches who have worked their hearts out serving our athletes with such love and leadership❤️

They are headed into their final seasons of college and we couldnt be MORE PROUD! Having alumni return and give back to the club is one of the highlights of this family💛
