Opening shots from few weeks ago 😶‍🌫️
I I’m not really into wrapping up this chapter with the people I talked to here and too much to dig through. Some things end, like this year’s project, where I finally broke out of my own head and just did something not for too much clarity, but more for enjoying some welding plus sound patching, and listening to some good ones. There’s weight in speaking too much But yeah, let’s see what else keeps spilling forward 🤪 Also thanks @promilia for this shots plus all the support from my talented friends. Artist Spotlight: Gheordu

Our first impression of @gheordu (Miruna) coincidentally came on the dancefloor of Control Club, where we were captivated by her selection and careful mixing. Upon learning that she is also a researcher, having recently completed her PhD on sound as vibration force, it all made sense.

She’s an attentive listener, and this translates in her sets, exploring the nooks and crannies of electronic music with both curiosity and ease. Having done a few guest mixes on the station before hosting her own show, Offguard, it’s likely that you or someone you know has heard her playing before.

This Saturday, Gheordu joins forces with Tia for a powerful back-to-back in the Berlin Room.

On September 19, we step into a new club season and open Black Rhino Residency at @clubcontrol with a lineup forged in the local scene.

As we reach the 28th instalment, we continue to show our appreciation and continued support for the local artists and our passion for the warm frequencies of the sound system, which continues to amplify all our residencies.

This season, Black Rhino Residency will promote the intersection of different musical genres and the way this reflects in the dancefloor energy, creating spaces where sound moves on different layers of tempo and harmony. By following this direction, we aim to bring more diversity and push the audience to explore through curiosity.

🪩 Common Ground – locul unde corpurile se întâlnesc prin dans

Pentru cea de-a V-a ediție a Festivalului de Dans Contemporan CONNECT, revenim la unul dintre cele mai vechi și universale spații de întâlnire: ringul de dans – un loc în care corpurile se mișcă, se exprimă și creează conexiuni.

✨ Pentru prima dată organizată în București, petrecerea anuală CONNECT aduce anul acesta o selecție all-female de DJ, cu Gheordu, Maria Antoaneta și Renaughty în spatele pupitrului. Trei perspective diferite asupra muzicii de club se întâlnesc într-o călătorie sonoră între techno, electro, acid, breakbeat, drum & bass și trance.

🎧 De la selecțiile texturate și atmosferice ale lui Gheordu, la explorările fluide între genuri ale Mariei Antoaneta și energia jucăușă a lui Renaughty, noaptea de dans va transforma ringul într-un spațiu comun de experiment, mișcare și conexiune.

☄️⚽️ 𝓒𝓸𝓻𝓹.𝓬𝓪𝓼𝓽 teams up with @gheordu, assisted by @adm1na and @vonbuelove in search of delicious-yum-yum sounds! See you on the dancefloor!

👽 Gheordu (Miruna) is a Romanian DJ and researcher, part of the Underton portal, contributing by journaling emerging names in the industry. Very keen on syncopated kicks & layered textures, for performing. UK Rave DNA & PLC-Era drum energy, for her research. Her sets are built on much contrast always moving so different and beyond. Recently completed her PhD including the study of sound as vibration force in post-2020 club environments.

🫂 A recurring gathering by the community, moving through favourite topics, club & music culture, weird obsessions and everything orbiting the dancefloor, with DJ sets and occasional international guests.

📀 Every installment includes music, some will also open space for talks, with the format announced in advance. Always close to the people building the culture from inside it.
