Mirror Alley 1 is a WRAP.

This Dada thought experiment of concept disruption and creative cross-pollination spawned a pretty stinking delightful show.

Hey friends🤍 I’m chilling here getting an infusion for bone density support, since I was recently diagnosed with osteopenia. Thought I’d drop a little heath update, since info share may help someone out there.

It’s been 4.5 years since my medically-induced menopause as part of breast cancer treatment. Early menopause is a TRIP psychically, emotionally, physically. I think it’s a trip at the normal age too, to be fair.

Sometimes it feels really lonely being in a phase that so few of my contemporaries can relate to yet. I love talking to women about menopause because I can offer lived perspective about the hot flashes, achey joints, fragile bones, hormone plummet. If you want to chat about this or your breast cancer journey please lmk.

If you want to chat about art, love, books, film, clowns, trees, music, bikes, the demise of capitalism, or other things - I’m here for it, too. by @ghostiephase

St. Val’s at HOLY MOTHER!

Lauren Stichweh entangles, un-entangles and re-entangles herself in her body sized soft chain sculpture, “Optimism is a cruel mistress (I cannot escape her touch)”, and Elizabeth Schmuhl ventures in from Detroit to light our space on fire (metaphorically, @gagchicago).

The dance party will begin alongside performers.

HOLY MOTHER, CALL ME! began as my fixation on the Divine Feminine for months and, if we’re being real, years. And if we’re being really real, decades. It was good fortune and fate to come across this incredible group of female, trans, and nonbinary Chicago artists each uniquely exploring the theme, each meticulous workaholics devoted to their act of making.

The Divine Feminine is the dirt from which we all spring, to which we all return, to inevitably spring again. Life is a circle, love is sacred. Wanna talk about it? CALL ME.

Enormous thanks to the artists who agreed to align under this banner and to the generous hospitality of GAG gallery as a true Chicago DIY apartment art space.

I’ve been tortured on how to represent this immersive show via images, but here is a start! Still time to come see.
