Originally filmed in early 2023 for my college club's 48-hour film challenge. In the time following the challenge, an inferior version of this film had only been screened to said club and to select friends. Since then, it sat mostly undisturbed, locked away in the recesses of an external hard drive... The cut you see here was completed in December 2025 and features new music, new sound effects, improved visual effects, and some other important differences.

The Dark Spot

A comic done entirely in MsPaint. I love how much planning you need to do in the program to get things right; one mistake when assembling a piece can cost you a lot of work - or your entire project. The subject of this piece is affectionately named "Sunboy" in my files, and he was featured in a print of GhostInARacecar stickers a few years back. Nowadays, I prefer GhostinaRacecar. I feel romance in this piece, it calls to memory times where I was shown kindness after making mistakes.

Village

At the time, this photo was the result of my first focused attempt at toy photography in well over a year. It was taken on my stovetop, and the fire was made from a pile of matches. I believe this was shot with a 50mm lens.

What's a "Slate" and What Does it Do? 🎬🤔

In this video, I aim to explain in layman's terms what a "film slate" is, why it is a vital tool for filmmaking, and how it is actually used! You will learn a bit of what a 2nd Assistant Cameraperson does on a set, as well as how audio is captured for films. There is a also a brief demo of a basic video editing technique in Adobe Premiere Pro! Please let me know if you have any questions, or if I missed anything I ought to have included here. Hope you enjoy! 🩷☺️🎥

Please note, the information in this explainer is based on United States filmmaking conventions, and the processes may vary from set to set. I've heard in other countries, grips are responsible for slating! How do they do it in your neck of the woods? :)

Cinematography, Nightvision, & Videography in under a minute!

Here's a short reel highlighting some projects I've worked on or made in recent years, from short films to band promos.

There are plenty more projects I've helped out on recently that aren't out yet - so I'll post those when the time comes. I've been 2nd AC on a few things lately, dabbled in acting a bit last year, did some set design & PA for a horror short... it's not as easy to show off that kind of work though. Lesson learned: I'll be snapping far more BTS pics from here on out!

Song: Motown Never Sounded so Good - Less Than Jake 🏁🎺 by @ghostinaracecar

Here's a minidoc I shot at @thaboathouse back in September... entirely in night vision!

Though @pazzythepossum is no longer with us, you can still follow their new project @lingabardizard! They brought an utterly unique sound to the show, and smiles that left a lasting impression on me. @thekennedycursephc obviously knows how to open up a pit wherever they go. Make sure you save some energy for their sets, you'll be headbanging and thrashing whether you planned on it or not! Make sure you check both of these bands out! 🤘🫨📹🔊

A segment featuring Sit in Silence is included in the full video linked in @privatedriveproductions's bio, as well as on the band's Instagram page.

Baron von Bulquist

...and his faithful tiger companion Quintarion. Born with a gold spoon in one hand and a big game rifle in the other, Baron lives for the thrill of The Hunt and settles for nothing less than the finest of game... and all other things. His uncouth, bush-whacking ways earned him a one-way ticket out of his royal family, but that doesn't stop him from ensuring everyone around him knows he's from the upper echelons of society. Don't let his burly physique and greased facial hair fool you - Baron may look like a man, but he acts much more like a fussy child. He certainly still has some growing up to do.

Pangolin

Out on a walk today with my point-n-shoot searching for new angles, I found a funky pinecone. I took note of it and kept walking at first, but I couldn't get the thought of how much it looked like a pangolin out of my head. So, I went back and got it. I was quite hungry when I got home, so I snapped a photo of my banana to use as claws, which I promptly devoured while importing the photos. All assets used were captured today on my point & shoot.

Hypnagogia

A yet-unseen photo I used in my recent MsPaint tutorial. Taken at the arcade room of a timeshare resort, this entertainment center had two or three proper old school arcade machines that weren't kiddie gambling - I was most interested in a shooter game not unlike House of the Dead, but it was out order if I recall correctly. Naturally, I was drawn to this room hoping there'd be pinball. There wasn't.
