In July we closed our teen summer musical, CRAZY FOR YOU! We are so grateful to the many patrons who came to support this production and joined us in the fun.

Here is what director, JOSH VELAZQUEZ, has to say: “Crazy For You was an incredible journey for all the cast, crew, and production team involved. Being the first full-length musical produced by the teen academy, this show challenged all of us in unexpected ways. From learning intricate dance numbers, to developing larger than life characters, each student had a unique challenge to overcome, and all of them rose to the occasion. I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work the students put into this production, and I am incredibly thankful for the care, concern, and dedication each of them approached this process with.

I also want to extend gratitude towards Sasha, Kathryn, Shara, Casey, Laura, Marcella, Jamie, and the many others who laid the foundation behind the scenes to make this show possible. I’m sure we’ll all carry a Gershwin tune in our heads for years to come as we reflect upon this incredible show.” - Josh Velazquez

Thank you to all who continuously support our productions! You put the community in Community Theatre.

Here is a closing note from the DIRECTOR of SOMETHING ROTTEN, Brian Moore, “In retrospect, choosing this show was a terrible decision. It was too big. Too many huge musical numbers that required too much talent. Too much choreography. Too many costumes. Too many props. Too many people. Too many moving pieces and, frankly, too many things that I personally had no idea how to do.

We closed this production after mostly selling out our entire second weekend, and the response to the show has been kind of overwhelming. People keep congratulating me and saying wonderful things about the show, and I am incredibly proud of it. But I also have a hard time taking credit for what people saw on that stage because so much of what made it work came from this incredible group of people who decided to take on this ridiculous thing with me.

If there’s one thing I do feel comfortable taking some credit for, it’s the team. I knew who I wanted in the room. I asked people who I am genuinely a fan of, people I’ve worked with and known for years, people I trust, and people who I think are the absolute best at what they do. And they brought in their ideas and their talent and their standards and, probably most importantly, they didn’t settle. Then we somehow found a cast and crew capable of meeting them there.

So yes, choosing this show was probably a terrible decision, but choosing the people I got to make it with was a pretty damn good one.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this monster of a show, and especially to this cast, crew and production team for somehow pulling it off.

As for what’s next... I think I’m gonna sit down for a little while.” -Brian Moore
