30 something surviving with chronic illness by reading all the books!
POSTS STORIES REELS
Spent this morning in my local library reading this little book- and what a belter it was! For such a succinct novel it packed such a punch- thoroughly enjoyed it and made me excited for the dark winter nights that are quickly approaching! Do you head for a particular genre of book as the winter sets in? (Book Pictured- Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan) #tbh #supportyourlocallibrary #readingtimešŸ“– #northumberlandlibraries by @ghostlybookish
After 16 months and 41 books Iā€™ve finally finished Discworld. Thereā€™s been ups and downs like any series but I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with this series and will be one I reread in the future! Pleased to have managed to fit the last book into @sunriseonthereadathon which has been an utter blast so far- head librarian @ksdcolson is an absolute sweetheart by @ghostlybookish
So 2026 has started with a horrific viral infection which has floored me. What has saved me is these four incredible books that i borrowed from my local library. All of them were 3.75 stars and more- I really enjoyed my time with them. I wanted to remind you to use your local library because theyā€™re incredible and need you! #books #library #useyourlocallibrary #2026tbr by @ghostlybookish
Crumbs, how did that happen? I don't think I've ever read that much in a year before. Truth is that chronic illness hit hard, I spent a lot of 2025 trying to escape reality by hiding in books. Fingers crossed that 2026 is going to be better- as much as I love reading (and I do!) 286 is a bit extreme- I'd take less books with more 5 star reads, more peace and less pain! #chronicillnesswarriors #readingtime #2025tbr #readingtoescape #cfs #booksbooksbooks by @ghostlybookish
When @whatmichaelareads tells you to read something- youā€™ve go to! Congrats on making the shortlist!!!! Canā€™t wait to get into this book- The Gathering by C.J Tudor has been on my shelf for a while and seeing Michaela recommending it has pushed it up my spooky TBR #neverendingtbr #spookyread #booksbooksbooks #tbrveteran by @ghostlybookish
Managed to score this new release in a local charity shop, couldnā€™t believe my luck! I do like a translated fiction and I really enjoyed this vintage Japanese mystery. #charityshopbook #translatedfiction #tbr #booksbooksbooks by @ghostlybookish
I am so bad at updating Insta but I want to change that! Been out this morning to @boundaryoutlet and scored these two bargains! Iā€™ve had my eye on this series for a while so getting books 1 & 2 for Ā£6 was irresistible! #readingaddict #tbrpile #bookshopping #bookbargain #bookaddict by @ghostlybookish
Iā€™m so bad at updating this feed! This is one of three Iā€™m currently reading and Iā€™d like to finish it before the end of the bank holiday weekend šŸ¤žšŸ»The Bookshop Murders by Jennifer Gladwell is set in London 1928- Iā€™m not far in yet but so far we have a smart independent young woman as a main character and an Egyptian mummy reveal which unveils a dead body, a fresh dead body- is it the mummyā€™s curse or is there a murderer amongst us? Got this on the multi deal at The Works šŸ‘šŸ» #books #reading #neverendingtbrpile by @ghostlybookish
Just finished this masterpiece- A Language of Dragons by S.F. Williamson and OMG! An easy 4āļø- a YA fantasy, Bletchley Park with Dragonsā€¦ need I say more? I really enjoyed this and canā€™t wait for book 2, which is due to be released 2026! #library #supportyourlocallibraryšŸ“š #reading #booksbooksbooks #fantasybooks #dragons #ineedbook2now by @ghostlybookish
Currently Reading: Mrs Death Misses Death by Salena Godden- this cover is gorgeous and Iā€™m not going to lie, it was why I picked it up. I like the lyrical poetic writing style, itā€™s not too flowery but I donā€™t know if this is going to be for me- but itā€™s important to try new things, read out of your comfort zone! #currentlyreadiĢ‡ng #books #coverbuybooks #reading #charityshopfinds by @ghostlybookish
Taking part in my first @thisissummerween as a reader who doesnā€™t read a lot of horror itā€™s taken me a while to pick my books! So excited to take part though! #summerween #readingcommunity #bookstagram #booksbooksbooks #supportlibraries by @ghostlybookish
Currently Reading: Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon- borrowed this from the library after seeing it everywhere! Not far in but this is very different to what I usually read and I donā€™t know if Iā€™m smart enough for it šŸ«£ by @ghostlybookish
