In this episode, I'm joined @tinah.ogalo of the @inyourtwentys podcast. Tinah and I both live in NYC and commiserate over the realities of dating in the city. We cover a lot about situationships, including some new terms and phrases I learned such as: foster partner and comfort crutch (oh so relatable). We also talk about the importance of date/life balance, which should honestly be as openly discussed as work/life balance.

Prior to my relationship, I was very confident, and have found my way back since! But it was a hard and painful journey. Not feeling like you can speak up in a partnership or fully express yourself is not normal and you deserve someone who sees you for the amazing person you are!

Why I lost my confidence…

1. I was love bombed and gaslit by my ex. I truly haven't been able to come to this realization until recently and speaking it out loud feels really good and therapeutic
2. Because of this experience, whenever I really like someone, I tend to overthink everything I do because...
3. I'm afraid that if I speak my truth, they are not going to be interested

Note that it’s NORMAL to feel these things and that there’s nothing wrong with you. I was able to re-find my confidence by being in a SELFship and focusing on me. By reminding myself that I’m the most important person, I am able to reconnect to my confidence and find joy 🤗

In today's episode, I sit down with Cole to discuss all things astrology. We touch on horoscopes, including the pros and cons of Co-star vs. Sanctuary, dating compatibility, dating patterns, and the notorious mercury in retrograde.

Cole has been studying astrology since he was 15 years old. Back then, he was only focused on sun sign astrology but oh how far he has come! He currently lives by the mantra “there are no negatives in astrology. No bad placements. No bad aspects. No bad transits. Only opportunities to grow & learn more about ourselves.” He prides himself on his ability to bring humor and levity to astrology when creating content and working with his clients. In today's episode, I speak with influencer @itsgigirobinson about her experience dating in the spotlight, living with a chronic illness, and digital burnout.

Gigi is a digital artist, health & wellness advocate, current M.S. Candidate, and graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, Design, and Photography. She has strong presences across Tik Tok (100k views on average) and Instagram (15.5k+ followers), and, as of this year, she has been developing her YouTube and Podcast content. Living with chronic illnesses, she has been challenged in many ways with everyday tasks, such as showering, cooking, walking, and even sitting down. Despite all of the physical and psychological challenges that threatened the path to becoming who she is today, she has challenged adversity and dedicated a majority of her life to become a master content creator, always keeping her values of creating positive and impactful messages to her diverse audience as a priority.

Gigi recently became a swim search finalist for @si_swimsuit.

I used to push away my discomfort in dating. I wouldn't say anything, anticipating them to make 'the move' i.e. ask me to go on a date, hangout, anything. If we were texting and there was clearly flirtation, but no effort on their end, I would keep my mouth shut (and be 💩 my pants in reality)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, I NEVER do that. I can recall 5 conversations within the past year I've had with men I've been dating where I spoke up

Because what I have to say matters just as much as what the people I'm dating have to say. As women, we are taught to wait for the man to make the first move. To hold back expressing our feelings too soon for fear of them running for the hills. This is literally the advice we grow up with

Well I say, that is WAY too anxiety inducing for my heart. I quite literally can't function when I feel like I'm walking on eggshells with someone
