Soon to be at the gallery for REPRESENT! @turquoiseskystudio Who doesn’t love a cute bear in a hat? I choose the bear! This piece was created to represent the destruction of our earth with little protection of our National Parks. Coupled with the history of the Boston Tea Party. It is time for another Tea Party, as we are obviously repeating history with corruption from the top. Waiting for My Tea Party is about resisting what is happening in our country. The cute bear functions as a teapot with plenty of messages steeping within. Tip his hat and have a cup of resistance on me!!

“Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable” -Cesar Cruz

What’s on YOUR mind, New Mexico?! Please join us Friday, October 16th (5-8pm) for the opening of REPRESENT!

Since time out of mind artists have been utilizing their talents to make statements about subjects they care about. REPRESENT! is a selection of works from local artists addressing a huge range of topics. This is not your typical “over-the-couch” art. You are invited to immerse yourselves in work that is contemplative, inspirational, and in many cases challenging. Join the artists this Friday! Show runs October 16- November 2.

Participating artists:
Anastasia Andersen, Linda Anderle, L BaLoMbiNi, Gayle Marie Bobick, Beverly Branch, Wesley Brittenham, Vanessa Brown, Lisa Casaus, Lewis Casey, Leslie Pino Durant, Julianne Flores, Christian Michael Gallegos, Gloria Hajduk, River Hansen-Munro, Pamela Heater, Sepiso Ililonga, Katherine Johnson, Staci Logue, Lee Lomas, Felix Lucero, Sandi J Ludescher, Susan Matthews, Angela Mihm, Isabel Otero, Monique Parker, Emily Rankin, Kimberly Sanchez-Ricketts, Magdalena Sandor, Carol Schrader, Debi Smith, Tom Fore, Emily Van Engel, Denise Weaver Ross

October 16th, 5-8pm, attend the opening of @ghostwolf_gallery 's Represent exhibition. I have a piece in the show called "Bless Us Mother, for we have sinned. Free Speech Dies by Silence." This piece was crested last year for Dia De Los Muertos at South
Broadway Cultural Center. I think the title speaks for itself....

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

She’s been swept up in them, she’s chased them... she’s studied them and even surfed in them... It’s been time for awhile... she has finally become one! Come see “I Am Become” at the 36th annual Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Balloon Fiesta show! I’m here until 5 today, and all next weekend, October 9, 10, & 11 (9-5 Fri, Sat; 9-4 Sun)

🤓I have some exciting news! My painting “Human, First” has been accepted into REPRESENT! A jury exhibition at ghost Wolf Gallery in Albuquerque. The exhibition opens October 16, and my painting will be available for purchase. This artistic journey I’ve been on my whole life is coming to fruition at the age of 41 😆 I’m glad I was finally brave enough to get my artwork really out there. Thanks for all your encouragement and support along the way. ❤️ #nmartist #originalart #teaparty by @ghostwolf_gallery
