Generic Government Issue suburban dad, veteran, and occasional gun writer. Some guys were (just) the tip of the spear. I was more like the shaft.

HOA Enforcement is back! Top brass has asked that we standardize around the AR platform and we’re going to need it today to take down the worst of the worst. MASINT (Measurement and Signature Intelligence) confirms Mr. Johnson’s new landscaping lights are actually 3000K instead of the prescribed much warmer 2700K and the entire neighborhood aesthetic is in shambles. Further surveillance over the past week has also detected two violations of the five minute open garage door rule clocking one violation at 38 seconds over. It’s time to make an example of someone. I’ll never get comfortable with people insisting on calling us “heroes“, we’re just doing our duty. by @gi_suburban_dad

FRTs make me happy part 2. Starting with 20 rounds of 124 grain supersonic with no can, followed by 30 rounds 147 grain subsonic with the Omega 9K. Again, this @rarebreedfirearms RD3 is unstoppable. by @gi_suburban_dad

FRTs make me happy. This @rarebreedfirearms is running sweet in my SP5K! New favorite gun. by @gi_suburban_dad

Is it the “best gun EVAR”? Maybe. Maybe not. But it’ll make ya happier than a puppy with two peckers.

The bang for the buck of a .22 Lever Gun is hard to beat especially with the addition of a red dot. Running my @henry_rifles last night had me ready to go out poncho shopping. by @gi_suburban_dad

A lot of people don’t realize this, but a @btswiss.us APC9 is almost exactly the same length as an @hkshooting SP5K. @rarebreedfirearms makes a drop in FRT for both. by @gi_suburban_dad

The best home defense weapons allow you to not only shoot an attacker, but also simultaneously set them on fire. This Boomstick I picked up from the good folks at @reactivegunworks decided to spout flames for me. You can see those ports working for sure. by @gi_suburban_dad

Some more @agencyarms @wrm.fzy Boomstick goodness. It is a remarkably flat shooting gun that can be ghost loaded to 5 rounds. This first round of a 1 ounce Federal slug traveling 1,610 FPS put me back on my heels a little bit until I pulled up my big boy pants and tightened up my core. by @gi_suburban_dad

Many people consider it irresponsible to only carry one @rarebreedfirearms FRT equipped SP5 in your vehicle, and I couldn’t agree more. Also, I finally got the hinges installed for this secure cargo box lid. Very nice setup. by @gi_suburban_dad

There’s nothing more satisfying than finding a product that does exactly what you want to do. In this case the @lunarconcepts shotshell card sold by @wise_men_company is such a product. The Kevlar like backing, they use ensures the overall placard stays stiff enough to go in and out of magazine pouches, and the hard plastic tube inside the end of the pull tab allows for a really positive purchase. Real life shows that whatever ammo is in/on the gun when you grab it is probably all you are going to have in a fight so if you’re not carrying spare ammo on your shotgun, you’re wrong. by @gi_suburban_dad

Let’s take a minute to talk about hand stop placement on a 12 gauge. Your support hand is able to absorb a huge amount of the recoil so your shoulder doesn’t have to. Therefore the hand stop goes in front of that hand so I have something to push away against. I see shotguns set up like AR-15s with it behind to front hand all the time and that’s not how this works, that’s not how any of this works. This @truenorthconceptsllc model is well made and large enough to get a significant portion of your hand against. However, the aggressive texture is both a blessing and a curse. I have some more experimenting to do. by @gi_suburban_dad

Getting my 75 rounds of full power loads through this new @agencyarms @wrm.fzy Boomstick for break in! Special thanks to @reactivegunworks for the amazing personalized service in getting this gun to me. Go check them out and expect a full review on this blaster once I get some more time with it. by @gi_suburban_dad
