These additional CARB Executive Orders include GIAC software upgrades for some previously missed vehicles, as well as more recent model years up to 2024, enabling their legal advertisement, sale, and installation in all fifty states, including California. Friday was an excellent day for a visit to IPB Autosport. We discussed performance upgrades for platforms ranging from 964 to 992, and also had the chance to learn about the racing history of each car that undergoes maintenance and track preparation at IPB. Many thanks to IPB Autosport!

GIAC CALIBRATION TRANSFORMS THE 992 GTS WITH MASSIVE POWER AND ACCELERATION IMPROVEMENTS!

The Porsche ® 992 GTS is already one of the most impressive 3.0 liter twin turbo vehicles on the market, but the GIAC calibration takes the car to a new level. Most notably, the program improves responsiveness, acceleration, and top end power. Throttle response is enhanced so the vehicle responds more predictably from a stop. Power increases are blended in throughout the part throttle and RPM bands, providing progressive gains at all throttle positions without compromising the smooth driving characteristics of the 992 GTS. At full throttle the GIAC tuned 992 GTS accelerates like a different vehicle with power increases as high as 106 Ft-Lbs of torque and 58 horsepower.
This power upgrade for the 992 GTS can be installed reliably and efficiently by any GIAC dealer over the OBD port in about twenty minutes. For full power details and graphs see below.

GIAC offers engine performance tuning for the 2019 - 2021 Macan ® GTS, 2019 - 2021 Macan ® Turbo, 2022 Macan ® S, and 2022 Macan ® GTS. These programs can be easily installed by any GIAC dealer over the OBD port for massive improvements in acceleration and responsiveness. Gains for the 2020 - 2021 Macan ® GTS and 2022 + Macan ® S ( 380 PS Platform ) are around 126 HP and 140 Ft-lbs of torque (93 octane). Improvements for the 2019 - 2021 Macan ® Turbo and 2022 + Macan ® GTS ( 440 PS Platform ) peak near 93 HP and 110 Ft-lbs of torque (93 octane). GIAC engine performance tuning for the C8 Audi ® A6 / A7 55 TFSI ® 3.0 Liter Turbo is now released for dealer on-site OBD flashing! Any authorized retailer can now upgrade these Bosch ® MG1 engine computers to GIAC stage 1 plus directly over the OBD port in about thirty minutes. The GIAC stage 1 plus calibration for this 3.0 liter turbo includes substantial improvements in power and acceleration without sacrificing any part throttle smoothness or predictability. Drivers may even notice some improvements in shift quality due to the higher torque commands from the GIAC engine computer. Platform testing revealed that the power potential on 93 octane was quite a bit higher than what was possible on 91 octane, so the calibration was structured to fully take advantage of either fuel on the fly.

GIAC software for the 992 Carrera, Carrera S, Turbo and Turbo S now available for dealer on site flashing

GIAC Dealers no longer need to send Porsche 992 engine computers to GIAC for performance calibration upgrades, as 992 Carrera, Carrera S, Turbo and Turbo S vehicles can now be flash tuned on sight using GIAC's Serial Suite flashing system. GIAC's proprietary flashing tools are completely developed in house and can program the DME over the OBD port in under thirty minutes. The latest GIAC Serial Suite flash system also incorporates the usual GIAC flash recovery safeties as well as CVN and error code reading before programming.

Did you know GIAC offers some ECU programs with a CARB Executive Order decal? Executive Order No. D817 covers current GIAC stage 1 programs for most of the front wheel drive Audi and VW 2.0 liter turbocharged engines ranging from 2006 to 2016 model years. GIAC is proud to have completed the CARB EO process for this group of vehicles, and has plans to submit applications for more platforms in the coming months.

GIAC stage 1 plus performance programming for the 2018 - 2021 Audi ® B9 RS5 available now!

GIAC has released performance programming for the 2018 - 2021 Audi ® B9 RS5. The GIAC Stage 1 Plus calibration maximizes engine performance for a range of premium octane levels from 91 to 94 (r+m)/2 or 95 to 100 RON. This program dramatically improves the performance of the RS5 with out the use of any additional hardware upgrades.

The GIAC Stage 1 Plus increases peak horsepower by 32 HP and 66 ft-lbs on 91 octane, while adding 71 HP and 78 ft-lbs on 93 octane. These gains bring the peak power potential to 514 HP and 545 Ft-Lbs of torque. The power delivery is consistent throughout the rpm range, with a largest torque gain of 84 Ft-Lbs at 4000rpm on 93 octane and 77 Ft-Lbs at 4300rpm on 91 octane. While full throttle acceleration is notably enhanced, part throttle driving remains as smooth as the OEM calibration.

Special thanks to @pacificgerman for their feedback and help in the development process. Engine performance gains displayed in the figures and plots shown were calculated from raw wheel power data of OEM and GIAC programming tests. GIAC completed these tests on their four wheel, Mustang Dyno with load and up to 75 mph air flow. GIAC used a factor of 1.125 to account for parasitic losses and create the estimated power curves.

GIAC IS PROUD TO RELEASE ENGINE PERFORMANCE SOFTWARE FOR THE 400PS AUDI ® 8V RS3 ® !

GIAC performance programming adds a substantial power gain to the 400PS Audi ® 8V RS3 ® for MY 2017+. There are two GIAC stage 1 programs available. The GIAC Stage 1 Plus calibration will optimize fuel, timing and boost for a range of gasoline octane levels from 91 to 94 (r+m)/2 or 95 to 100 RON. A second stage 1 calibration, designed for E85, which optimizes fuel delivery, lambda, timing and boost to take advantage of the knock resistant and cooling values of E85. Both programs dramatically improve the performance of the RS3 with out the help of hardware upgrades.

The GIAC Stage 1 Plus increases peak horsepower by 45 HP and 81 ft-lbs on 91 octane, while adding 62 HP and 99 ft-lbs on 93 octane. Aside from the substantial peak to peak gains, the Stage 1 Plus program offers even greater gains in many parts of the rev range. The greatest torque gain in the power band can be found at 4300 rpm, where the program adds 91 ft-lbs on 91 octane and 107 ft-lbs on 93 octane over the OEM program. The horsepower improvement is 76 HP at 5,000 rpm on 91 octane and an average of 79HP from 4,100 rpm to 5,800 rpm on 93 octane.

The GIAC Stage 1 E85 program transforms the performance of the 8V RS3 2.5 liter turbo motor. The calibration, which is designed to run on E85, adds 110 HP and 111 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels over the OEM calibration on 91 octane. Engine estimates for this calibration using a correction factor of 1.15 yield of peak of 501 horsepower and 476 ft-lbs of torque. Massive power improvements can be found through out the rev-range with average gains of 125 ft-lbs of torque from 3,600 to 5,700 rpm and 129 HP from 5,000 to 6,300 rpm.
