Yesterday marked the sixth month since this day. I remember everything so distinctly.

This is our engagement through my point of view.

We start all days by taking a photo in the elevator. No special reason, just to have an extra photo of us together.
Today, Gian found us a famous Omurice restaurant in Ginza. He followed it up by taking me to Bongen — which ended up to be the best coffee I’ve had in my life(so far)!! He then proceeded to show me all his favorite spots in Ginza including his go-to Gyoza place and the cafe he worked at before heading to meetings.

It rained hard today and we ended up seeking shelter in a mall before deciding to spend the rest of the afternoon in Akihabara. Found this Taiyaki shop right when we exited the station. I thought the Red Bean flavor was good until Gian ordered the Sweet Potato and it was amazing! We spent the rest of the day exploring Gacha stores and retro electronics shops (hello Sony Cybershots everywhere). We then stumbled into this retro arcade called Super Potato. It was nostalgia heaven!!

When it came to decide what to have for dinner, we didn’t know what we wanted so we hauled ourselves to Ueno to explore some more. Spent the night shopping for sneakers and ended up (apparently, not by accident) at this cool Standing Whisky Bar. There was a mix of Salary Men and foreigners there, casually unwinding with shots of Hibiki’s and Yamasaki’s. Standing next to us was a famous Japanese TV producer and we exchanged some stories. It was somewhere out of a novel how everything was playing out. Started out with Yamazaki shots, then came the Hibikis. While toasting myself with two shot glasses, Gian pulled out a ring (I had to ask him what it was before realizing what was happening). No other words were exchanged, just a nod, the slip of the ring on my finger, and the warmest hug on a cold night in Tokyo. 🤍 by @gianvergara_
