New album -JOKA with @typhoonfamilyvacation out on June 12th.
POSTS STORIES REELS
JOKA — the album I made with Kyle Morton — is out now. It’s an album about my grandmother, an ordinary person who lived an extraordinary life. But most of all, it’s a piece of music, a body of work that I’m so proud of creating. I want to thank everyone who helped make it a reality: Kyle, (@typhoonfamilyvacation ) for basically doing everything — from helping me understand what this album is about, to writing, producing, and performing it with me. I really can’t stress enough how lucky and proud I feel to have had this opportunity. @lenamindermusic Jordan, and @delsullivan who lent us their beautiful voices. @jeanlouise_parker , for the epic additional strings. Mat, (@phileasmusic )for thickening the choirs. Jeff, for being the best mixing engineer in the world. @adamgonsalves for mastering it beautifully. @popuprecords — Ina, Adrian, Lina, and Ivana — for being the absolute best @alextourstress for helping to make it possible @shuchi_sun for the album cover @initiativemusik for the support I hope it stays with you. by @gidon_carmel
Prelude and Stranger on a Train – 1944 by Kyle Morton (@typhoonfamilyvacation) and myself have been out for a few days now. These two songs open JOKA, a concept album about my grandmother — her experience during the Holocaust, surviving Auschwitz, fleeing the Soviet Union, and her death in Israel in 1979. I still can’t quite believe that Kyle, one of my biggest musical influences, agreed to work on this project. What began mostly as a production role slowly grew into something much deeper, to the point where he is now singing much of the record. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve made and grateful to finally share the first part of this story. More music, videos, and stories soon. JOKA will be released on June 12, 2026 via @popuprecords Lyric video by the always wonderful @eliott.sebb by @gidon_carmel
One week since ‚Aurora live @lonepineberlin‘ came out! Thanks so much for almost 9‘000 views and all your lovely comments. It’s been such a beautiful journey bringing this album to the stage. Learning to play all my overdubbed piano parts with just two hands has been such a meditative challenge 🤍 Watch it on my Youtube channel myaaudreymusic - link 🔗 in my bio ⬆️ #pianist #composer #producer #neoclassic #live #video #release by @gidon_carmel
