Gus the Guard Dog (🐶) here! I sniff out forgotten gift cards, fetch cash for the unwanted ones, and help you remember to use the rest.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

At Gift Card Guard, we're on a mission to eliminate wasted gift cards.

You know how it goes...

Gift cards are great, but:
- They wind up lost, misplaced, or forgotten
- You never know the remaining balance
- You don't have them with you when you need them

Our app helps you keep all your gift cards in one place. Just snap a photo, upload it, and we’ll pull in the details automatically. You can track balances, add notes, tag who it came from, and even pay straight from the app.

If a card’s been decommissioned, we’ll help you recover the funds whenever possible. And if it’s one you don’t plan to use, we’ll help you exchange it for something you actually want.

Once your cards are uploaded, you enjoy:
- Secure storage that keeps every card safe
- Easy access when you're ready to make a purchase
- Monthly alerts that remind you to use them

Everything’s backed up, neatly stored, and easy to find, with your trusty pal Gus the Guard Dog keeping watch.

Most users unlock at least $100 just by organizing what they already have. Hope we can do the same for you!

Founders: Jay & Steve
Founded: 2024
Mascot: Gus the Guard Dog 🐶
Mission: To eliminate wasted gift cards.

Gift Card Guard was started by Jay and Steve, two friends / dads / former teammates at #StonehillCollege.

They got the idea after a post-holiday realization:
- They both had $200+ in unspent gift cards
- Half were buried in email, the rest in junk drawers
- Neither knew their balances
- Both had lost or forgotten gift cards before

As it turns out, they weren’t the only ones! Over 125 million Americans have at least one unspent gift card, totaling nearly $25 billion in unused value.

They searched for an app to help, but nothing quite did the trick—so they decided to build one.

Gift Card Guard was born and, with it, Gus the Guard Dog, our Scrappy-Doo inspired mascot who keeps your cards safe. 🐶

We’re having a blast building this together, and we’ll be genuinely thrilled if it helps save you some money.

Thanks for giving it a shot!
