#lettertomyyoungerself

Ging, you started out believing life would be simple, that life would have clear paths, that good things happened to good people, and that growing up meant finally having all the answers.

You carried such small and innocent dreams: to be happy, to make your parents proud, to explore the world & to build a life that felt meaningful and safe.

BUT nobody warned us how much growing up would ask from us, how many versions of our self we need to lose just to survive, to keep moving forward.

There will be seasons where you feel lonely even in crowded rooms, exhausted from carrying expectations, and terrified that you are falling behind everyone else.

There will be nights when you quietly wonder if you are strong enough to survive what life keeps placing in front of you. Somehow, you will. Every single time.

There will still be difficult days ahead, even at 35, but the difference is that you will no longer believe hard days mean a hard life.

Ging, you will slowly build a life that once felt impossible when you were in your 20s suffering a quarter life crisis, crying quietly in a shared room. A quieter, steadier life, a life filled with people, moments, and little joys that make surviving feel worth it.

Ging at 35, life is still imperfect. There are still worries, unanswered questions, and moments of fear. But there is also peace now. There is strength you earned the hard way & if you could see us now, I think you would be amazed that we made it this far, not untouched by life, but still dreaming and still becoming. 🌸 by @giiigail

TL;DR: Reflections on a Decade of Public Service

Before the year ends, here’s a recap, not of 2025, but a recap of my 10 years in public service (2015-2025). I am posting this as a milestone marker and a reminder of what I’ve been through.

I did not post anything during the awarding because I honestly did not feel celebratory. Not when my thoughts reflect the last ten years meant becoming everything to everyone—every role, every gap filler, every problem solver that people suddenly remember only when they need something.

These photos may seem nice to look at, but my ACTUAL milestones and breakthroughs aren’t the kind you post proudly on social media. They each have unique background stories and they look like this:
– Drafting RoD while sitting under tables because there was no seat for me;
– Getting cursed out in front of everyone because the laptop I only borrowed happened to have a defective “A” button & other small things;
– Being blamed & made the scapegoat for things that go wrong—simply because others can’t (or won’t) do their jobs properly;
- Painting decor in a cramped comfort room;
– Being stabbed in the back with unnecessary comments dahil “napahiya sila,” not knowing I borrowed 125,000 just to make sure a bilateral meeting wouldn’t be a disaster;
- Sleepless, anxiety-filled nights;
– Missing important holidays with my family because “work calls,” because the country comes first; etc.

I know others might have it harder than me, and I’ll never invalidate anyone else’s struggles. But I also won’t let anyone invalidate mine.

These ten years happened.
I lived them. I carried them. I endured them.

So no, I’m not celebrating BUT I am ACKNOWLEDGING MYSELF and my MATURITY over the years.

Ten years of showing up—even when overlooked.
Ten years of serving—even when unappreciated.
Ten years of being cussed at, blamed, stretched, exhausted… yet still choosing to serve the country and the people.

This is not a victory post.
This is a survival post.
A reminder that I’m still here—tired, bruised, but still standing.

And sometimes, that alone is worth saying out loud. by @giiigail

Last late post na ‘to (promise!) para makumpleto ko lang ang 2025 ganaps dito sa IG 😅

Dionela’s Concert at the New Frontier Theater | 21 Nov

This concert was amazing and truly a night of honoring!

Honoring his family, na naging sandigan niya mula simula. Honoring Meizy, his girlfriend/fiancée, at ang buong pamilya niya na naging parte ng journey niya. And most importantly, honoring God, the source of his talent, strength, and purpose.

Grabe rin ‘yung testimony niya — raw, real, at ramdam mo talaga. Kung paano siya binago at sinave ni Lord, how God pulled him out from his lowest moments and gave him a new heart, new direction, new life. (Grabe yung worship part ng concert!)

Sobrang nakakainspire makita na sa gitna ng success at spotlight, hindi niya nakakalimutan kung sino ang nagligtas at nag-angat sa kanya.

All glory to God for nights like this 💕 taken in New Frontier Theater by @giiigail
