I don’t bully blue belts. I use a moderately-skilled yet overly-confident student to provide live demonstrations of effective techniques against resisting opponents. Big difference.

Range of motion isn’t 100%, but being able to do ab wheel rollouts for the first time in over a year feels great!

Spent my 41st birthday by simply enjoying things that make me happy. Started with a quiet early morning with my wife and kids watching cartoons, then having fun doing my job with some of the best members a coach could ask for, a birthday meat session (smashed 4 post-surgery PRs, including a 410x5 deadlift with my nephew hyping me up, putting me just 20lbs shy of my pre-surgery strength), an afternoon full of fights, a nap, a pizza, and a mini birthday party with a cake made by my kids. Now, I think a glass of whiskey will cap this day off nicely.

Thank you to everyone who reached out and wished me a happy birthday. Here’s to another year of health, strength, success, community, and family. Cheers by @gil_guardado

First time benching 200 since my surgery last year. Easy 5 reps with plenty in the tank. Thanks for the spot, @nautinick1023

180 for an easy, pain-free 5 reps. Most weight I’ve pushed since my shoulder surgery. Getting back above 200 in no time, then only up from there.
