Please read—this could help another dog. ❤️

What started as a perfect beach day turned into one of the scariest days of my life.

Gilbert loves sprinting along the shoreline and occasionally trying to “catch” the waves. I do everything I can to keep him from drinking saltwater or eating sand, but I wasn’t prepared for one wave to crash over him while he stood facing the ocean.

Not long after, he vomited twice after drinking fresh water. His gums looked pale, and something just didn’t feel right.

We rinsed both dogs off, packed up immediately, and made the 40-minute drive to TruVet in Petaluma. They got Gilbert into triage right away.

His heart rate had dropped to 68 bpm, he lost bladder control, and the veterinary team believed he was going into shock. I was absolutely terrified.

After 22 hours in the hospital and nearly $3,000 in emergency care, I’m incredibly grateful to say Gilbert is expected to make a full recovery.

I can’t thank the incredible team at @truvetspecialty enough for the compassionate care they gave my best friend.

If our experience helps even one family, these are the lessons we took away:

💧 Offer fresh water as soon as you arrive—and frequently throughout your outing.

🌊 Do your best to discourage drinking seawater and pay close attention if your dog is playing in the surf.

❤️ Trust your instincts. No one knows your dog better than you. If something feels off, don’t wait.

🎒 Keep an emergency go bag packed for both your pets and yourself.

Please give your pups an extra hug from us today. We’re so thankful ours gets to come home. ❤️ by @gilbertandthequeen

Just 5 seconds of life with Gilbert & Coral. 🐾❤️

A little dress-up, a little fall fun, some impressive tongue action, and of course… a dramatic roll in the grass. 😂

Just two fluffy corgis living their best lives. 🍂🐶

Which moment is your favorite?

Since Gilbert is convinced EVERY package that arrives is for him, I’ve decided to put him in charge of opening all our deliveries. 📦🐾😂

This time, he was actually right! Our @petfinn delivery was for him and Coral, so naturally, he took the job extra seriously.

His technique might be questionable, but you can’t fault his determination. 🤣

How would you rate Gilbert’s unboxing skills? 📦

And the bigger question… should we make Gilbert Unboxes a regular series? 👀🐾

Tongue Out Tuesday comes with a POP QUIZ! 👅📝

Two corgis. Two impressive tongue curls. One very important question…

Can you tell who’s who from just their tongues? 👀

One belongs to our snack radar specialist. The other belongs to a Queen who takes her treatos very seriously. 👑😂

Swipe to see if you guessed correctly!

How’d you do? 2/2, 1/2, or completely fooled? 🐾

Two corgis, two small businesses, and plenty of reasons to celebrate! 🇨🇦🇲🇽🐾

With Canadian Thanksgiving coming up and Hispanic Heritage Month wrapping up, we’re showing some extra love to two small businesses that help keep us stylish AND well-fed! ❤️

🇨🇦 Treatos from our Canadian frens at @healthybudco ! Gilbert and Coral put the banana chips and beef lung to the ultimate taste test. Because choosing just one treato is serious business. 😂

🇲🇽 Our adorable bandanas are from @once.upon.a.tail_ , a Latina-owned small business bringing a little extra style to our floof!

We’re thankful for the small businesses that put so much love into what they do. 🫶

Because measuring corgis in inches is boring… 😂🧻

We decided to find out how many toilet paper rolls tall Gilbert and Coral are. Ears included, obviously! 🐾

Important research? Absolutely not. 😂
Adorable results? Absolutely!

Now we need to know… how many toilet paper rolls tall is YOUR dog? 👀🧻

Thanks to @abbythefluffycorgi for inspiring this very important scientific experiment! 😂❤️

A little Gilbert & Coral rewind. 🐾❤️

Nine moments, nine different adventures, and approximately zero quiet. 😂 From beach days and road trips to questionable decisions and everyday corgi chaos… apparently we’ve been busy.

Which one are you tapping first? 👀

We didn’t meet Coral as a puppy, but we definitely didn’t miss the best part. ❤️

Coral was almost two when she came to us through her breeder’s foster-to-adopt program. We didn’t get the tiny puppy stage with her—we got to know the dog she already was and watch her become part of our family.

Six years later, the opinions are stronger, the Queen energy is undeniable 👑, and somehow she has all of us completely trained. 😂

Turns out, you don’t need the puppy years to get a lifetime of memories.

How do you take fall photos when it’s still 100° outside? 🍂🥵

You bring fall to the backyard and set up your own mini photo shoot. 📸🐾

Gilbert came ready to model. Coral came ready to negotiate her participation. 😂
