It’s official: the Nerd Reich podcast is getting banned from YouTube….the week of my book launch!

Incredible timing, since I’ll be all over the media next week talking about tech fascism.

They can delete my account. They can’t stop my work.

First I was banned from X/Twitter for 8 months.

Then Facebook banned my newsletter.

Then X/Twitter banned me permanently.

Now YouTube disables my channel the week of my book launch.

Was it something I said?

Check out this review from @irishtimesnews ! “The Nerd Reich is a fantastically unputdownable must-read, a book with claims I at first thought bordered on tech conspiracy theory. Yet Durán documents his case persuasively and convinces the reader that he is not misusing the F-word when he alleges his key figures qualify as fascists. The @guardian just published an amazing piece about my book, which publishes August 18:

In April, Gil Durán was permanently banned from Elon Musk’s X for posting just two words. Durán was responding to a post from the tech company Palantir outlining its 22‑point “technological manifesto”, which praised American “hard power”, western culture and AI weapons, denounced inclusivity and called for compulsory national service. Durán responded: “TLDR: Fascism” (TLDR is short for “too long, didn’t read”).

Durán didn’t break any of X’s written rules, he points out over a video call from San Francisco – so much for Musk’s “free-speech absolutism”. His ban might just have had something to do with his preceding tweet, showing the cover of his new book, The Nerd Reich: Silicon Valley Fascism and the War on Democracy. The book’s central argument is that big tech is no longer our friend, as many of its billionaire owners have seized economic and political control and are steering the fate of the planet towards their own bizarre, apocalyptic visions.

Crypto is corrupto.

Crypto is a fake digital wannabe currency that's mostly useful for scams, human trafficking, drug trafficking and crime and gambling... they are now the biggest moneyed force in American politics, basically holding our political system hostage by promising to spend tens of millions of dollars against any politician who dares to challenge crypto...

This would be like if a drug cartel suddenly entered American politics [and] threatened anybody who refused to legalize cocaine or heroin. This is what we're watching here, yet it's become completely normalized.”

President Trump spent years describing crypto as a scam against the dollar. And on the day he returned to the White House, he became a crypto billionaire. And he is now the country's crypto bro-in-chief. His entire family is cashing in with Bitcoin mining, with coin scams. Even Melania had a coin that sucked money out of dummies and then enriched the Trump family. At one point the Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump family's fortune had increased by $5 billion thanks to crypto. But because crypto is so scammy and volatile, it's now down to about 1.2.

“I don’t think I’m the Antichrist, [maybe I’m] lacking in self-awareness...You shouldn’t trust me.”

I obtained a recording of Peter Thiel’s Nashville Antichrist lecture last night.

That’s what the Palantir billionaire said when asked about something I wrote last year in the New Republic. Here’s what I wrote:

“Thiel co-founded Palantir, a software company literally named after an all-seeing orb controlled by an evil wizard in The Lord of the Rings. Palantir is partnering with the Trump administration to supercharge government surveillance at a moment when the president openly embraces authoritarianism. The irony is so striking it almost seems like a confession.”

Thiel’s lectures portray critics of technology—especially those who want AI regulation—as potential “Antichrist” figures. But Thiel also says this Antichrist will warn of apocalypse and Armageddon, and will seek to control the world by controlling technology.

The Antichrist Thiel describes sounds a lot like...him. After all, last week he said “Evil is...kind of good.”

But remember: there is no mythical Antichrist. Just a nutty billionaire with extremist ideas and a tremendous amount of influence in our government.

They have billionaire brains...completely detached from reality.

And they’re making some fundamental mistakes.

Silicon Valley billionaires have captured a tremendous amount of power under Donald Trump. But they don’t have it all figured out...

They don’t understand regular people.

In politics, you promise jobs, safety, and a better future.

Instead, tech moguls are selling AI as a disruptive force that will kill jobs and potentially wipe out humanity. They are promising apocalypse and “Antichrist.”

No wonder people across the country are rising up against data centers—the physical manifestation of billionaire power on earth.

Don’t let anyone tell you there’s no hope. But we have to move fast.
