Step 8: Create coral fragments using bone cutters or a chisel, then secure them to the live rocks using glue and coral catalyst! 🪸

The coral catalyst helps the glue solidify, and contains antiseptic which helps prevent coral infections! ❤️‍🩹

After a few weeks the corals will begin to grow across the rock surface, securing themselves, and the glue eventually dissolves

Step 9: A very important step.. admire all the coral fragments!😍

We also count how many fragments of each species were propagated to log in our database!

Step 10: The most important step, get super excited about all the coral babies about to be returned to the ocean 😆

Step 11: Place the rocks and coral fragments into baskets, and carefully swim them out to the nursery! 🪸

Step 12: Wedge the rocks into the nursery, making sure they’re safe and secure! 💛

This is where they’ll have time and space to grow big and strong 💪🏽

Step 13: Admire all the residents in the nursery! Not only are we growing lots of corals, but providing a new habitat for marine life! 🐠

Step 14: Time for some nursery maintenance! Checking growth and health of previously planted corals! 🪸

Then it’s time to head back to shore, clean and dry all the equipment, and log all the species propagated! 😁

Step 1: Rinsing all the equipment with sea water to make it coral friendly! Preparing the table with buckets and everything needed for once out of the water! 🌊

Step 2: Shore dive to collect the corals that will be propagated! We look for healthy, naturally broken fragments that will be able to thrive after propagation!

We keep each species separate and note down the depth that they were found, so we can safety stop them up to the surface 💙

Step 3: We continue to drift down to the nursery, where we collect lots of live rocks which the corals will be attached to! 🪸

Step 4: Carefully transport everything to the shore! The propagation table has been prepared directly opposite the nursery, so it’s just a few steps out of the water! 🪸

Step 5: Make sure all the equipment has been disinfected and placed in sea water! Fill up all the buckets with water to hold the live rocks and corals collected!

It’s important to keep the different corals separate so they don’t sting each other and cause additional stress 🫶🏼
