One month of Dance the Globe! (2/14) 🌍💚💙✨

It makes me incredibly proud to see the African Diaspora represented so beautifully, along with so many other cultures around the world. The smiles and waves that fill the audience are incandescent; it’s such an important reminder that, truly, “we are one!”

Thank you to all of the INCREDIBLE photographers who capture the joy and energy of this show so effortlessly. Your generosity and spirit is appreciated more than you know. ほんとにありがとうございます💛

thank you @ninasymone_ for such an amazing class and getting me right! it’s been a while since i’ve taken a heels class, and also my first time in a decent pair of actual dance heels😭. going into a new style is always a bit nerve racking, but (as all dancers know) the video always looks better than it feels! proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone, and excited to keep exploring all the things that scare me! #heels #heelsdance #dance #danceclass #dancer by @gillianclifford

today, september 21st, officially makes one year in japan! while it’s impossible to fit an entire year’s worth of experiences into 20 slides, i hope these photos properly capture the gratitude i have for this incredible experience so far. never would i have thought i’d say “i live in japan” before i’ve said “i traveled to japan!”the connections i’ve made with people from all walks of life, and the deeper appreciation for the culture i’ve gained through studying the language have provided a transformative experience on their own (japanese is really freaking hard😂 継続は力なり🙂‍↕️). a special thank you to everyone who has been able to make it all the way across the pacific to visit! the most difficult part is missing friends and family—but what a privilege it is to have friends & family to miss. here’s to more amazing experiences to come! (and maybe level N4 japanese?😮‍💨)

easily two of the most beautiful places i’ve ever been—okutama & fukasawa were near impossible to fit into a mere 20 slides. i planned this trip expecting it to rain every day with every intention to enjoy it regardless, and yet, the sun showed up each morning with some of the most gorgeous weather. it’s funny how that works, isn’t it? when you’re already prepared to make the best out of any situation, that’s precisely the moment that everything works out.

eyes filled with beautiful sites, belly full of wasabi treats of all kinds, heart full of actions of kind strangers (and the courage to speak in japanese)… thank you okutama & fukasawa for the perfect summer getaway🏞️ taken in 奥多摩 by @gillianclifford
