I'm bringing my wonderful live band to the @thegladcafe in Glasgow on 19th September. This is the Glasgow launch celebration for my latest album, Bring On The Apathy, and it's a rare chance to hear the songs fully fleshed out with the musicians who recorded it with me in the studio. Here's a live rendition of I Never Thought You Couldn't Not with the wonderful @gillianfleetwood on harp and vocals.

We filmed it in the beautiful confines of @cambocountryhouse with excellent eggs @callum_boath of @woodchipfilms and Steve Soave of @81filmsuk. The audio was expertly captured by @mrbillgill1.

Here's the full video of The Going, filmed at Cambo House.

This song is a tribute to one of my favourite stretches of coastline. I was living at Todhead Lighthouse in north-east Scotland at the time of writing and initially this song was intended for my first solo album, Staring At Mountains. I ended up hanging onto it and it became the closing track of Littoral Zone, produced with aplomb by @a_wasylyk back in 2024. Since then, it's become a setlist staple at my live shows and I particularly enjoy playing it with @gillianfleetwood. I'm booking gigs for this year and even into 2027 so if there's somewhere you'd like us to play let me know.

Thanks again to Callum, Steve, Bill and Mary for helping make the video.

I've got a new live performance of 'The Going' over on my YouTube page.

Gill and I travelled down to Cambo Estate in Fife a few weeks ago to play a lovely gig at the Snowdrop Festival curated by @meforqueen. Aberdeenshire, where I live, was going through a historically dreary January, weather-wise, with essentially no sun for three weeks. So I'd been feeling a bit flat. But spending the weekend at Cambo, making music, listening to music and seeing friends was a lovely, restorative time.

Great to collaborate with filmmakers Callum and Steve again for the first time since the Littoral Zone church sessions we made in 2023. And it was super to work with Bill on the audio. He's got a great mobile recording setup so if you're ever looking to record music and need a pop-up studio then give him a shout at @mrbillgill1.

Hello! I've been awfy busy recently, filming lots of video stuff with some wonderful people. I have a new album set to emerge very soon and my plan is to share a lot of it in quite a visual way. So I'd love it if you could subscribe/follow across as many platforms as you use. I've got lots of videos up my sleeve and I'm really looking forward to letting you hear the new songs.

Snowdrop Festival is ON.

What a total delight to play both host and a bit of cello with the amazing @songsbyadamross joined by sparkling @gillianfleetwood on harp 🪉 “Free Will” here with lovely cello part written by Pete Harvey.

It feels great to have Cambo Kitchen open again to warm our tender January souls and ease us through to spring….. Back on Sunday 15th Feb with @bethmalc ✨
