2025 Loreto Art Billboard in the Clendon Centre features a large-scale reproduction of Australian artist Vera Moller’s work Platonia. Moller reflects on the fields of microbiology and limnology (fresh water ecology) in her stunning painted, sculptural and installation works. Moller creates colourful imagery capturing the delicate botanical and natural terrains of coastal marine environments. As a viewer we sense the fragile nature of the underwater world. The movement, flow and gentle sway of these real and imagined marine environments highlight natures exquisite beauty and deep fragility. Here is the Loreto Toorak Mandeville Centre Art Billboard for 2025. I proposed the installation of the Art Billboard in 2015 and over the years have selected various works by brilliant Australian artists including Patricia Piccinini, Lisa Roet, Linde Ivimey, Jacqui Stockdale and many more. Now in its 11th year the billboard features the stunning work of Victoria Reichelt @victoria_reichelt. This painting grabs your attention, it’s not only the highly skilful use of realism but the moving scene of mother and child created by Reichelt. The brilliant use of contrast draws you in to the expression on the child’s face, the gentle hand of the mother and her affectionate embrace. There is reality here, we note the busy artists table of paints, the scissors and the take out coffee. The struggle and magic of mothering. The real challenge of balance between self, mothering and the desire to pursue a career. It’s such an important issue to highlight, particularly in the context of a girls’ school. Young women are encouraged to strive but it’s equally important to acknowledge the real challenges ahead particularly to young women who strive to embrace both children and work life beyond the home. Peter Davidson drawings on paper translated to large scale windows at the Clendon Centre, Loreto Toorak. The translated pencil works have visually and spatially transformed four offices spaces. The dynamic use of line extends the illusion of space within these compact spaces. As an artist and architect Davidson is a master of flow and rhythm. The viewer is taken beyond the surrounding walls through the expanding movement of line. Owl of Minerva is now in position and she looks beautiful. The pearly shimmering surface softens the surrounding concrete and black surfaces in the building. The art crate finally arrived and at last the owl is on location. Here is the exciting unveiling, as I let out a huge sigh of relief. A key work in the current project, Owl of Minerva will become a significant and playful landmark in the building #ggartconsulting

New Art Billboard featuring the work of Australian artists is now installed. This 2022 Art Billboard image is a photographic work by Tamara Dean. An innocent work that speaks to the young viewers who work within this space. ‘Girls at the Quarry’ is a moving reminder of the power of nature upon all of us, particularly the lives of young people. The open environment, playful time and youthful discovery.
