Joshua went to prom on Thursday. It’s the only picture I have of him from prom. This pretty much sums up J, his sophomore year and his spot as the caboose, #5. To know him is to love every crazy part of him. by @ginamccarn

EIGHT YEARS
We became a family of 7 on 3-17-18. Those baby faces have changed so much through the years. For all 5 of these faces, their lives were rearranged, each of them making space for all things new. I really don’t remember what life was like even the day before our family changed. I can’t imagine it any other way. It’s never lost on me that the Lord did not need us but He allowed us to be part of this story. by @ginamccarn

Senior Day at BJU….what a joy to walk alongside him. When one chapter closes, another one opens. It’s not easy to continue your craft as a career but this one has managed to do it. Proud is an understatement because he finished what he started. The diploma is an accomplishment but more impressive is he spent these 4 years launching, becoming a man, finding his way all while growing in his walk with the Lord. He was wise enough to know when he needed guidance or a trip home for some enchiladas. He took the sound advice of those college dorm decorative pillows and called his mama. He got up every day and did the next thing. He swapped his jersey for a whistle as a junior so he could start his journey as a coach. One might not fully understand that choice came with significant sacrifice. Juggling a full class load and college athletics is not for the faint of heart. It takes grit. He said no to many things so this could be his yes. Again, one might not fully understand the daily choice. I honestly could not keep track of the many responsibilities he accepted as a student coach that went far beyond the time on the court in practice and games. Behind the scenes he spent hours helping Georgia Force Athletics supporting the program where his dad is a volunteer AD, head basketball coach and his younger 3 brothers played football and basketball. Phil and I have always said his high energy, passion and competitive spirit would be a formula for greatness, whatever God planned for Davis. While this chapter closes, the Lord has written the next. Finishing these 4 years with his brother on the team is something only the Lord could orchestrate. Endings are bittersweet, celebrating what’s been done and anticipating what’s next. Before that final buzzer, there’s a national championship waiting on this team. by @ginamccarn

Bob Jones University Men’s Basketball 2026 NCCAA Div II Regional Champions.

It was an incredible tournament and so much fun to watch these guys battle. What a memory for Davis and Carter to share. I am so thankful most of our crew could be there for them. God writes the best stories. by @ginamccarn

Senior Day 2026 BJU 🏀
If the courts could talk they would tell you all about a little boy who stepped on the court for the first time when he was barely old enough to tie his shoes. Fast forward 18 years and that little boy is now a man months away from college graduation. He fell in love with a game that would forge a path for him through his entire education. In a few months he will begin a new chapter as a high school coach. Being his mom and watching him grow up on the court will forever be one of my favorite memories. Who would have thought he would share this experience with his little brother in both high school and college? It all started for the both of them in our driveway often too early for the neighbors and way beyond bedtime. Davis, let your light shine bright, your testimony be a reminder of the Lord’s faithfulness, your position as a coach continue to be another opportunity to love others well, and this next chapter a platform for the gospel. Remember the Lord will never fail you, just do the next thing, and your mama will always be in the stands cheering for you. by @ginamccarn

One of the best parts of Christmas break is J having his siblings home. We are thankful for this team and brotherhood. Last night was especially fun hosting a team from Australia and tonight his JV team won a big game. We love you, #10. by @ginamccarn

Full circle moment when one of my former students captured our family over Thanksgiving. She was so patient with our rowdy crew.
