That liminal space between bind off and finished! I figured I’d show off the guts of this sweater before I weave in all the ends. Now on to button selection and blocking. I hope we get a single cold day before Willa outgrows this so she can wear it, but this heatwave and how fast she is growing makes that seem like a pipe dream. Luckily I can knit her more sweaters, and I’m pretty certain I will knit another collage cardigan, it was that fun! by @ginarockenwagner

A new baby is coming to the neighborhood! We can’t wait to play with him and see him grow. Wip Wednesday but it’s too hot to make a video / lots of laps / we just got Willa into The Love Below by OutKast/andré 3000 and she is obsessed. Favorite songs are Hey Ya and Dracula’s Wedding (Scorpio moon has entered the chat). #knitting #toddlerlife #wipwednesday #collagecardigan

The first of our holiday sweaters ✅ done! This color is hard to accurately photograph. The yarn is very interesting - two plies are superwash and two plies are non superwash. I got it as an early sample from @knomad_yarn . I dyed it a color I knew would split and it came out amazing. Up close you can see the different tones of green, blue, brown and purple. It looks like it’s moving, like static on a tv! I know it’s darker than what I typically knit with but one cannot live on bright sweaters alone. Willa refused to model it because it’s so hot right now. Here’s hoping for cooler days ahead! #babysweater #babyknits taken in Los Angeles, California by @ginarockenwagner

I know these “everything I knit in Q1 and 2” posts are very divisive. Some find them inspiring and motivating, some find them annoying and consumery! On the daily I’m mired in the mundane - raising a toddler and working simply requires this. So for me, I wanted to show MYSELF how much I’ve accomplished creatively despite day to day life feeling so utterly toddler centric! So if it annoys you, please ignore, and if you love it let me know because I am fueled by strawberries and compliments this time of year. Leo szn is hard for me and this week felt so wacky with the eclipse. Hope everyone is hanging in there and enjoying your creative practice. The size of the output doesn’t matter! Does it feel good? Does it nourish you? This is what I’m trying to get at with my practice. Putting handmade sweaters on my Willa nourishes the heck out of me! 🩷🌞 by @ginarockenwagner

My newest knitting pattern, baby shrimp, is available now on my website and ravelry! I will post the links to my story. I have loved developing this pattern. It’s a great use of a couple skeins of stash yarn, stripes beautifully and fits great. I hope you enjoy knitting it as much as I did developing it! Very excited to announce that my newest knitting pattern - the shrimp sweater - will be available this Monday, July 20th! This pattern has been a long time in the making (such is toddler life!) and I can’t wait to finally share it with you, complete with a self produced video tutorial. My dear friend had a cancer 🦀 baby in the year of the fire horse! I made her a Fire and Water themed quilt chock full of prints so she has a lot of fun things to look at during tummy time. Since my friend is a graphic designer, I even laid out the whole quilt with a grid which I never do! I finished it off with wavy quilting done on my long arm machine. Very excited to meet this little baby and very proud of my friend for bringing her into the world ❤️ taken in Los Angeles, California by @ginarockenwagner
