🇮🇹 I ragazzi di @polythink3d sono tornati a trovarci per vedere cosa succede quando la #stampa3d cambia scala.

Quando i pezzi crescono, il confronto con il filamento diventa inevitabile: tempi, quantità di materiale e costi iniziano a pesare davvero.

La stampa pellet apre un approccio diverso: produzioni più grandi, tempi più efficienti e costi del materiale molto più accessibili.

That's a wrap on the Printed Big Design Contest! 🏆
Earlier this year, we teamed up with @ginger.additive to challenge designers to create interior objects for large-format additive manufacturing. The winners have been revealed, and all three pieces are now printed at full scale on Ginger Additive's G1 using Polymaker materials.
🥇 RIB by @vladislav_ganzen — printed with our upcoming full-colour pellet product, a new PolyCore solution.
🥈 FANTOME by @eduardobaronidesign Baroni — a minimal chair in PolyCore PETG-1113 Marble.
🥉 FUMIDAI by peglodam — a multifunctional step stool in clear green PolyCore PETG-1000 R85.
Big thanks to Ginger Additive for the beautiful photos of these designs — they really bring the pieces to life.
The winning project will be exhibited at our booth at #Formnext2026, where we'll also officially unveil the new PolyCore material used to print it. Come see both in person.

RIB is a stool designed for large-format pellet 3D printing and selected as the 1st place winner of the Printed Big Design Contest, organised by Ginger Additive and Polymaker.

The project started from a desire to explore a different approach to 3D printed furniture. Instead of relying on the typical horizontal layering and lateral silhouettes often associated with additive manufacturing, I looked at layered plywood construction, where multiple sections are assembled to create organic, almost topographic forms.

I translated this logic into a vertical rib structure, where repetition, spacing, light and depth become part of the design. The project evolved through sketches, digital modelling and a series of 3D printed prototypes before becoming a full-scale printed object.

The final piece will be showcased at Formnext 2026 in Frankfurt. Hope to see you there!

Il futuro delle infrastrutture passa da qui: un ponte stampato in 3D! 🤖🌿
Non si tratta di un semplice esperimento: a Nijmegen, capitale green d’Europa nel 2018, questo ponte di 29 metri viene attraversato ogni giorno da centinaia di pedoni e ciclisti.
In più, grazie alla precisione della stampa 3D, è stato possibile risparmiare il 50% del materiale rispetto alle tecniche classiche.

🥇 First place in the Printed Big Design Contest goes to RIB by @vg_st_d .

RIB explores a vertical rib structure that plays with rhythm, depth and light, transforming the layered surface of the object into an integral part of its design.

For the winning project, we had the opportunity to test Polymaker’s upcoming full-colour pellet product — a new solution that enabled us to create custom colours in-house, based on a target colour code.
This tailored material approach opens up new possibilities for large-format 3D printing, combining material development and colour customisation directly within the production process.

As the winning project, RIB will be showcased at Formnext 2026, alongside the official launch of this new PolyCore product. Visitors will get an inside look at how precise material combinations can be used to create custom colours and bring ambitious designs to life.

🏗️ La torre stampata in 3D più alta del mondo! 🇨🇭
Siamo a Mulegns (Svizzera): una torre alta 30 metri e composta da 124 elementi stampati in 3D all’ETH di Zurigo.
Pensata per essere smontata e spostata ogni 5 anni in borghi diversi per incentivare il turismo, la sua forma è un omaggio ai pastori di queste montagne. Un progetto incredibile che unisce design e rinascita dei piccoli centri, realizzato anche grazie al supporto di Ginger Additive.

Printed in Marble PETG (PolyCore PETG-1113 Marble), FANTOME is a minimal chair designed to balance comfort, strength and ease of printing.

Its essential geometry combines a minimal aesthetic with the possibilities of large-format additive manufacturing.

FANTOME has been printed at full scale on the Ginger G1 using Polymaker material and shipped directly to Eduardo.

Printed in clear green PETG (Polycore PETG 1000 R85), FUMIDAI is a multifunctional step stool designed for everyday gestures and compact living spaces.

A simple object, rethought for large-format additive manufacturing.

FUMIDAI will now be printed at full scale on the Ginger G1 using Polymaker material and shipped directly to Damien.
