40 is certainly the year I learned more about fun. I've learned a lot, it seems, just in the past few weeks, actually. In fact, today is the first time I've ever enjoyed my birthday. I may talk more about that another time, but suffice it to say, I learned my happiness doesn't depend on what someone else does or does not do.

Finally feel like I had my birthday today and tomorrow we switch to celebrate my wonderful husband on his birthday. by @gingerchicksfarmstead

New (old) food mills, finally made some corn bread, and moving boxes. Yikes! I have some updating to do. Stay tuned.

And for the record, as long as you have the right bowl under the mill so it sits on the counter, the old school cone shape is my preferred style. by @gingerchicksfarmstead

What does winning look like to you?
This is what winning looks like for me right now. I know coffee isn't out of the norm for most of us, and let's face it, I'll have this gone by lunch.

Here's my dirty little secret: I dont make the coffee, my husband does. (Or my eldest child) So when my husband is traveling (a lot lately) I have some of my worst days because the coffee doesnt get made.

As I've been refocusing and trying to get to bed earlier at night (is 130am earlier? 😬 hey butter making happens when it happens) I chose to prep the coffee maker last night in stead of rolling out of bed, wishing my wonderful husband was here to pass my cup.

So now I have the fuel and the warm familiar drink of choice in my hands to get me through my intermittent fast. Yes, I even getting back to IF. Little by little.

This is my win!

I hope you'll share some of yours as well as this becomes a place where I will continue to share some wins as I get out of my losing mentality. Let's support each others progress. by @gingerchicksfarmstead

Oh the weather outside is frightful...finally!
Perfect time to whip up a cup of our homemade hot cocoa, using high quality ingredients that our family pre-mixed by hand to make it fast and easy when the kids run in from the snow.

And these made a fun gift for our friends and family this year. If you recieved one of them, know that we were thinking of you through the cocoa cloud that inevitably poofed on little redheaded cheeks as they scooped and mixed for you.

Grab these ingredients and mix:
1 c. organic cocoa/cacao powder
2 c. Organic whole A2/A2 milk powder
2 1/4 c. Organic powdered sugar
1/2 t. Sea salt
2-3 ounces dark chocolate bar, grated

Use 1/4 c mix per 8 ounces hot milk or water. Add marshmallows to add the joy.
