Surprise! Life update! I’ve been hiding a lil secret in the back of all my swatches. 💍

On the 21st of October my boyfriend and I were in Philadelphia for what I thought was just a nice weekend trip to see an Eagles game. But when I stopped to take a picture of a cool carved pumpkin, he took his chance. And I said yes! ✨ I should have known when I just happened to stop and put on these gorgeous @salonperfect press-ons right when we were all trying to leave and he wasn’t stopping me 😂

Omg hi there!! Long time no post and then I’m coming back with MAKEUP. Listen, this will always be a “nails first” account but I’m still going to add in some other interests. I didn’t plan on a months long break, but Instagram and the algorithm had been getting me and I was less and less motivated to post for only a tiny percentage of my followers to ever see anything.

And it was a perfect little reset. In that mean time I’ve been working on my blog again! The blog being a static piece of searchable content will always make sense for how I post and work and so I really wanted to work on making it a true archive of all of the pieces I’ve been trying! I have a lot of posts to catch up on still BUT I accomplished a big goal of finally getting this BEEFY post published that goes over alllll of the pieces of the @wetnwildbeauty Chameleon Chrome collection, giving you so many photos and swatches and thoughts on it. Again I’m still working on my schedule and process and I won’t be posting every day like I used to but I’ll most certainly be updating when things are going up on my blog!! Sparkly Sh*t • No Smoking • from the @holotaco Haute Garbage set ✨

On the day of April Fools, Holo Taco previewed this set, and we're so lucky it wasn't actually a joke. We have 4 shades here, expanding out 'Born Ugly' into 3 new finishes. 'Born Ugly' is supposedly the "ugliest" shade as voted on and I was not consulted because I love this shade of olive, I'm just saying.

'Sparkly Sh*t' (me describing what I like to collect) is that same dark olive green color instead in a jelly base that's then jam packed with large holographic glitters. It truly is some sparkly sh*t. I did end up using 3 coats to build this up, as I found the 3rd coat to continue to build the base and layer that sparkle. • And last but certainly not least, we have 'No Smoking'. This is a deep brown toned olive green jelly base filled with a GORGEOUS magnetic shimmer that shifts from a copper on over to a bright green. It's a touch sheer with that 1st coat, with a jelly finish that allows that shimmer to peek through. The 2nd coat layers up and makes it fully opaque and it's LOVELY - even unmagnetized. And that shimmer is so incredibly shifty, it's mesmerizing. ✨✨✨ by @gingerlypolished

Born Ugly • Dirty Martini • from the @holotaco Haute Garbage set ✨

Oh we're getting UGLY today. Dropping as not a joke on April Fool's Day, we got a set of 4 "ugly" polishes from Holo Taco, all themed around Born Ugly, a shade that originally released on its own. And listen, I think we can go uglier here, Cristine. This is just a normal color I wear all of the time, thank you!!!

'Born Ugly' is our star and the one that started it all. It's a deep brown-toned olive green cream shade, and yes I love her. And of course, it has a stunning and easy 2 coat formula, it's lovely!! And if it's so ugly, why does it coordinate so well with my sweater, okay!!! • 'Dirty Martini' basically takes the base color of Pretty Ugly and adds some ✨holo✨. This is a olive green linear holographic, and again I love it. It's a touch sheer on the 1st coat to let that sparkle peek through, but a 2nd coat easily comes in and really brings in that color and sparkle and they're pretty okay!!! Put it in Airplane Mode from the @opi The New OPIcons collection for Spring 2026 ✨

We're continuing swatching through OPI's newest seasonal drop, which features 12 new shades all inspired by classic OPI shades. These aren't replacing those, they're a good little companion to each one.
.
As you can imagine 'Put it in Neutral' is a very neutral soft shade. It's a sheer, pinky toned shade that'll let the nail line peek through. And it's new little companion 'Put it in Airplane Mode' is much more warm and brown toned, almost sandy sheer shade. It is more sheer, but it's even so it can be worn at any level of sheerness, but it does build up to fully opaque on my nails in 3 coats. It's soft and gorgeous and just a perfect little something on the nails! ✨✨✨

You Don’t Know Suzi from the @opi The New OPIcons collection for Spring 2026 ✨
.
We're continuing swatching up OPI's newest release, with 12 new shades all inspired by classic OPI shades throughout the years! For example, 'You Don't Know Jacques' is a deeper, richer more chocolate brown cream, so to pair up with that we have 'You Don't Know Suzi'. If you're unaware, Suzi is the founder of OPI so if you see various Suzi themed names that's who they're referring to. And this one is a softer, more taupe based, almost more gray toned cream shade. It's the softer sibling of 'Jacques'.

Formula-wise this has a smooth first coat with just a touch of nail line peeking through. But a 2nd coat comes in and easily makes it opaque! It's super smooth to paint on, and so lovely! ✨✨✨

Lincoln Park After Brunch from the @opi The New OPIcons collection for Spring 2026 ✨

One day its 70 degrees, the next its 30, it's truly SPRING here in Chicago. At least my nails are fun - that's cliche and I don't care. ANYWAYS we're swatching up the newest OPI drop, which features 12 new regular lacquer shades all inspired by classic OPI shades from throughout the years.
.
Of course we all know the icon, 'Lincoln Park After Dark', a very deep, almost black purple cream shade. It's an icon and makes so many appearances once cooler weather hits. So now we have 'Lincoln Park After Brunch' for the rest of the year. This is a berry purple jelly base filled with purple shimmers all throughout. You can see that first coat is more sheer and true berry. But a 2nd coat comes in and really deepens it up to match the bottle and build up that base and shimmer. It was an easy 2 coats and I love the overall sparkle ✨✨✨

Strawberry Cosmo from the @opi The New OPIcons collection for Spring 2026 ✨

It's almost, maybe? technically? spring here so we're swatching up some new Spring OPI. They dropped 12 new shades for us all inspired by classic OPI shades (don't worry it's not replacing them).
.
This next one comes as a new sister to 'Strawberry Margarita', a super bright classic coral shade. This one gives us another classic with a bright medium berry pink shade. It feels bright on the nails, but maybe a little toned down from the Margarita. And this has a STUNNING formula, just look at that first coat glide on. It's pretty well opaque at that point, though I do always add a 2nd coat to further smooth out my ridges. If you somehow don't have a berry in your life, this is perfect. ✨✨✨

Mod About Me from the @opi The New OPIcons collection for Spring 2026 ✨

It's in the 70s today here in Chicago (before it drops back down to 50s I'll still take that) the windows are OPEN, the sun is SHINING, it's SPRING and it's time to swatch up some new polishes. OPI has dropped 12 new shades all inspired by classic OPI shades from all throughout the years.
.
This one is of course pays homage to 'Mod About You', which is a classic cool toned medium pink cream shade. This one instead goes purple, being a soft almost pastel purple shade. This was a touch streak on the 1st coat, but a 2nd coat came in and really built it up. On my ridged nails, I did add a 3rd coat but most will be set with just 2 coats. ✨✨✨

Sunny Bunny from the @opi The New OPIcons collection for Spring 2026 ✨

I never think I experience seasonal depression and then it gets warm and I suddenly feel like dancing. So it's only fitting that we swatching up some spring shades from OPI. We have 12 new shades here all inspired by classic OPI shades.
.
Now the original shade Funny Bunny is a sheer white shade, so it's only fitting that -Sunny Bunny- is a more sheer buttercup yellow shade. Though, it's not quite as sheer as Funny Bunny so that just ended up giving me quite a few problems with application. You'll see in my video, that even after floating on 3 coats, with a thicker last one, I was having issues with streaks and patches. On my ridged nails it's really hard to work with, and I really didn't like the thin formula. This could work for others, but not for me. ✨✨✨

Queens Rule from the @opi The New OPIcons collection for Spring 2026 ✨

You know I thought I was fine with the cold weather, but then today was warm and I had the windows open and when I felt the breeze blowing through, I felt the life return to me, so okay fine maybe I'm ready for warmer weather. But at least we have spring on the nails!! We're looking at OPI's newest release, which features 12 new shades all inspired by classic OPI shades through the decades.

This next shade is of course inspired by 'Princesses Rule', which is a soft cooler toned shimmery pink. This new shade is still a soft shimmer, but instead in a creamsicle orange with silver shimmer. And I was surprised at how much I liked this one! I was ready to be a hater! It is more sheer, but overall it's a smooth, even formula and I was able to build it up with 3 thinner coats for this gorgeous and delicate nail look. ✨✨✨
