To be alive...

I've been on a personal journey of rediscovering who i am and what i can be and what being alive truly can be as well, one would imagine that once they're on a certain course in their life they have to follow it through till their last day cause that is who they are, yet i've come to realize that life is something that we are all trying for the first time, where we can make of it what we will without resigning to what might have come before.

This summer i aimed for that kind of change, to experience and live more, try new things and see what i can be beyond what i already think i am and i hope to continue doing so from now on and continue to live this temporary unique experience that we are all trying for the first and last time, and i encourage you to do the same as well.

The wind that takes us

I often wonder if i would ever be ready for that day, when i am not even ready to see the wind take the people i love around me, i struggle with the fact that it is something that will take us all, and i always wonder how those who's time comes accept the wind and greet it as a friend instead of something to fear, i hope that that day is a long time away for me yet no matter how far away it might be i still cant imagine myself greeting it and being ready for it to take me and i wonder what could ever change that, as i imagine everyone has gone through this shift in mindset.

I often wonder what it all might mean and if anything is worth everything we do in our lifetime, if theres anything waiting for us after we went through all our struggles in life or would it just be eternal darkness, as some just circle around that question all their lives while others stop and try to face it and some are too afraid to even ponder over it.

I feel i've been all of those in different points in my life and the conclusion i now have come to is to make my own meaning that matters to me now and live towards it instead of something that may never come afterwards.

The roots that make us

Theres something beautiful in knowing that our struggle to grow is similar to the different elements we find in nature, especially within trees that tower over us as if they were always that large and tall, without ever seeing the struggle they went through as they grew their roots and started out from just a seed.

It mirrors the dark struggle that can sometimes get overwhelming, lonely, and disheartening, often leaving us questioning if what we are building will ever be worth it, while seeing the sun shine on other plants while we take our time, hoping our day will come to bask in that sunshine as well.

I do believe that those who take their time to grow strong roots will bask in the sunlight far longer and higher than whatever surrounded them that made them doubt it, and here's hoping we start pushing up towards the sky soon enough.

The Search for Meaning

Lately Ive been looking into what drives people to live the lives they live, and what meaning they are searching for through the decisions they make.

Sometimes it feels like we're all just keeping ourselves busy around an unknown endpoint that some pretend to understand while others would rather ignore, living somewhere between the possibility of eternal darkness and blissful transcendence.

Im not sure where I fall on that spectrum. Id like to think there is an ultimate meaning to everything we do, one that will still matter after we pass on.

But Ive also come to the realization that we can create our own meaning while we are here, regardless of what might come after.

And maybe that kind of meaning is worth pursuing simply because it matters in this life, whether or not it matters in the next.

A thousand different stories, yet aware only of a few, while wondering about all the others.

A lifetime self counscious of all these identities i present, that change from year to year the older i get.

Yet ive come to realize lately that only one truly matters, the one you're ok with and proud of that you see in the mirror everyday while all the others are out of your control, and shouldnt occupy too much of your mind.

Heatwave

Its often surprising how fast summer can pass by, always waiting each year for it to come only to end too quickly, and as i sit now in the current heatwave of august wishing for a set up like this to keep me chill and cool, i try to take in the moment and enjoy as much as this summer while it lasts, with the calming beach scenery behind me and despite the melting heat that comes with it.

They simply are...

It is truly a rare thing to find, especially in an age where one can easily be cynical with everything that currently is going on around us.

Yet there are those that still choose kindness and empathy, and continue to care for others and know that the kindness they offer today no matter how small, can sometimes bloom into amazing things down the line for the world around them.

It is truly a beautiful thing and one that i hope you hold on to despite all the reasons that say not to.
