Meet the two behind Ginger Weddings! ⚡️

Whether you’ve worked with us before, you’re a friend, or a complete stranger: welcome to our long-overdue intro post :)

We are: Emma and Andrew! 🙂‍↕️ We’ve been working together for 11 years on a wide range of projects. Wedding photography gradually took over, and in 2018 we formally branded as Ginger Weddings.

Our style is shaped by the things we naturally gravitate towards: architecture, film, cinema, street photography, design, travel and art in all of its forms! Today, we can confidently say that we’ve reached the client base of our dreams…like-minded people with an appreciation for the craft, creativity, and passion we pour into our work.

Our approach sits somewhere between editorial and documentary. While there are many aspects of documentary photography that we incorporate, our presence and ideas inevitably shape the photos. We read the room, taking mostly candids, but also posing and adding our touch when we feel inspired.

Emma handles the creative direction and the socials. She’s into vintage style, design, and details that add mood or texture. Andrew is on the technical side, the gear nerd, and the one who gets everyone comfortable (ZERO social anxiety lol).

What are we up to when we’re not shooting weddings? We’re traveling, seeing friends, trying new wine bars, hanging out with our Chihuahua (shoutout to Hillary Fluff), collecting inspiration from everywhere we can - and usually still taking photos!

We do this because we genuinely love it (constantly saying THIS IS THE BEST JOB)! We love meeting people, seeing their dynamics and getting a glimpse at their lives for a moment. Doing that while being creatively fulfilled…could we ask for more?

If our style feels like something you connect with, don’t hesitate to DM us to say hi! :)

E&A 🤍 by @gingerweddings

Hard to put into words how we’re feeling after Saturday’s wedding with our new BFF’s Cassie & Taylor, and their amazing team of vendors (also our new BFFs). ✨😭💗 This weekend we were so lucky to shoot at the iconic @twahotel airport hotel at JFK, a dream of ours!!! Unbelievably excited to share the photos with them.

Little bit of this little bit of that from Nicole & JT’s sunny summer wedding! From old port rooftop first looks, two ceremonies, and a reception at La Toundra. As usual more posts to come for this wedding since there’s a lot to share 😅 these two are so cute and so so happy and we wanted to showcase that in the photos! It was clear that they have so many people in their circle who love and support them and it was fantastic to be a part of that energy. Can’t wait to share more!!

A few of the spookier shots from our little abandoned theatre adventure 🤫

How this shoot came to be: while on my usual marketplace scroll, I saw someone selling old movie theatre chairs. I said, “hey, I don’t want these but can I shoot here???”…one “oui c’est possible” later and here we are! Concurrently, we met Rebecca at a restaurant we frequent now and then, and she talked about being interested in doing a shoot. PERFECT!!!!! This came together in such an informal way, but the result is anything but. We’re crazy about how these photos turned out. If you needed a sign to ask for what you want and make things happen, this is it!!! ✨👻

Some teasers from Nick & Andria’s spectacular wedding at Theatre Cartier 🌸 this was seriously so fun to take photos of!!!! These two were absolutely great. And what a dream vendor team to work with too! ~ we’ve been so behind on posting since we returned from Mexico. 🫠 been working non stop, and as we approach the end of the season, we’re looking forward to some cave time to put a major dent in our editing cue. 😆

Film from Sam & Steven 💞 it’s so fun to incorporate a roll or two of point and shoot into a wedding day! Some of our faves x

We just sent out this album 🖤 of course the first thing we’re posting is the medium format Hasselblad pics 👀 the black and white was perfect for this moody, classic venue. Got some amazing shots in the sun and then went a little darker inside. 10/10 loved this wedding and Sam & Steven were the best models!!!!

We snuck out for a little golden hour session during the reception. Sent out a few teasers last night 😉 promise we’ll be more active in the coming weeks!!! We have so much good work to share!
